Agree to disagree I think Briarpatch was totally made as a Emmy vehicle, being release early in the year til May and it bombed.

To be fair the network probably didn’t help.

However – she’s probably been submitted an awful lot in the last 10-15 years for various things and alas nothing although her projects do tend to be more popular than awards-y

Not happening but i can dream

It’s way too early to dismiss Midnight Mass. Industry people have started seeing it and commenting about it on Twitter. I’m on episode 4 and I found it more accessible than Flanagan’s other works. I’m confident this might have a strong guild run especially if Netflix campaigns for it.

I can’t believe Variety said this first part with a straight face.

That entire list is kind of odd lol. I could see a number of those shows just not panning out.

Don’t forget these are the same pundits who pushed for The Comey Rule throughout the entire Emmy season.

I do sometimes wonder how Hill House would have done had Netflix done a better job campaigning it. To this day it saddens me that Mike Flanagan did not nab a directing Emmy for “Two Storms.” That and “The Bent-Neck Lady” were easily the best episodes of any show in that Emmy cycle IMO.

    Same.

I feel overall Netflix’s campaigning (not just in limited, but particularly in limited) is the most up in the air or hard to judge. I feel like everyone else is showing their cards a lot more.

I highly doubt Showtime submits the three First Ladies in supporting. The cast is gigantic; they can’t put everyone in supporting. My guess is that all three FL go lead and the rest supporting. If it’s good and Showtime does its job, there’s a chance it dominates the supporting acting categories in a way that leads to a rule change.

Possible. But it’s just easier for me to put it in my predictions there for now so I can start to stress later about which First Lady to predict and who to drop from other shows in my predictions once the predictions centre opens and the placements are confirmed hehe.

Not even having Impeachment in the top TWELVE. I won’t say its wrong, but it is just crazy to see how hard it fell.

Also, I think if Coolidge is the sole supporting nominee from The White Lotus, especially if The First Lady takes up 3/4 other spots, she’s in a great position.

Scenes From a Marriage has been excellent thus far and Chastain and Isaac should definitely be in the conversation but is anyone else feeling like it has very little buzz or is it just me? The critics haven’t been drumming hard for them and the show’s ratings seem to be dropping with each episode.

I’ll keep its leads in my top 10 for now but it wouldn’t surprise me if this goes the Maniac route where it makes it in at some guilds and one of its leads make it in at SAG but it ultimately ends up being shut out at the Emmys because it lacks strong enough buzz to sustain itself throughout the entire season and because it faces such strong internal competition (not just at the Emmys but also at the winter awards it’s probably going to be a third priority for HBO at best with both Mare of Easttown and The White Lotus).

    FYC:

"The Good Fight" and "The Other Two" in all categories.
