Obviously the show will go to drama or comedy (probably drama) because of the rules but I’m not sure it should just from a “what’s right or wrong” standpoint. I feel like a totally new setting with one new character is still an anthology series. But obviously that’s not how the Emmys see it.

In a way I support the rule because it was getting irritating how continuing dramas like LutherSherlock and Top of the Lake have (or rather had) been frauding themselves in limited purely because they had smaller episode counts.

Obviously the usage of returning characters can reopen their arcs to a certain extent but I think the real issue here is the returning character arcs and plots themselves rather than the characters themselves. Take AHS for example. Apocalypse essentially was a continuation of a lot of things covered in Coven so it made sense for it to be moved to drama but Hotel features a cameo from a previous character that really doesn’t have that much (or as much of a bearing on the progression of the season).

    O. Screenplay: Bergman Island/Mass/Nine Days

The massive Sherlock fraud will never not be funny. At least the show is a serve but it still sends 💀 Top of the Lake in limited also makes no sense but it didn’t get single nom for season two anyways so I guess it didn’t matter in the end msjsjsj.

It’s so funny how there were predictions with Inventing Anna for this past Emmy season, and now we’re finishing the year and still we have no clue about when this will come lol.

Its Netflix page has been fully updated this week so it’s coming soon

Netflix have updated their Inventing Anna page:

It sounds like Chlumsky will go lead.

Ultimately I think they’re kind of shooting themselves in the foot putting it in drama given they could fill out half the supporting categories with The Gilded Age and Succession

Eh the whole thing is getting complicated. At the end of  the day The Crown is many ways an anthology and has the advantage of hiring the type of actors that can commit to a two-year project but not five or six and reaps the benefit of it. I don’t know what the answer is.

When everyone is predicting Qualley/ Chastain/ Feldstein/ Paulson to win and then Anna Chlumsky makes a Winslet/Williams type entry to win the Emmy:

I can’t even handle my composure watching this gif. I hope the Emmy won’t fail her next year.
