Is Love and Death really shooting until March? They are a month into filming already and we have stills too.
I also see no reason for White House Plumbers to miss except that is too much HBO content for one round.

Justin Theroux and Lena Headey are both overdue so we’ll be campaigning for their wins huns.

Barry season 3 teas lol.

I do think HBO are waiting to see how their slate shapes up. Firstly because they have so much content coming out all at once due to pandemic delays (not only the limited series but also The Gilded AgeEuphoriaHouse of the DragonBarryHacks, maybe The Flight Attendant too) but also I think they’ve shown over time that they’re not willing to campaign so many shows at once. We knew Scenes From a Marriage was ready for the spring (HBO’s partner networks in Europe were stating it was a June release, the show essentially had the same production framework) but it was delayed due to HBO already having I May Destroy You and Mare of EasttownSharp Objects was also ready for a spring release but that was pushed back to the summer.

I think whether Love and Death and The White House Plumbers make eligibility will depend on how packed HBO’s slate overall is, where The White Lotus will be competing at the Emmys (probably limited although it does look like it might be on a fine line when it comes to the television academy’s rules) and whether some of their upcoming limited series are duds or not.

I feel like you run Headey sooner rather than later (honestly, true of all the ex-GoT cast), previously nominated drama actors tend to have quite good nostalgia or good will effect mostly in the first couple of years out.

I don’t really understand the confidence in it when Fellowes’ last two post-Downton shows were really quite poor

I SO want Justin Theroux and Lena Headey to have acting Emmys. You can give the argument that voters simply didn’t watch The Leftovers for Theroux to have a chance but I don’t understand how anyone can watch “Mother’s Mercy” and be like nah.

Personally I only have it so high because of its cast and the HBO of it all. I didn’t watch Belgravia (nor do I have any intention too) but it still hit the 70s on Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic which would probably have been enough had it been on HBO and had a main ensemble with a combined 22 Emmy nominations and 4 wins between them.

It could obviously be a dud. But between the above, the fact some of its more higher profile cast members were so keen to be in it that they shot projects and television shows concurrent to shooting it (during a pandemic) and HBO giving it a February release date I do feel like there must be something there.

I agree, they weren’t great and likely wouldn’t have even gotten in for HBO.

I also don’t know that I’m overly confident on Fellowes in an American setting either. I have them in my predictions but unless I get a better feel for the project I think I’d max out at maybe two noms aka Perry Mason.

Early Colin in Black and White reviews are out and are solid to excellent, almost universal call outs to Jaden Michael.

A warning here – this comes out on Friday but somehow has been switched to released on IMDB and is fairly unambiguously being review bombed (IMDB does usually eventually pick this up)

Jaden Michael coming to be another great contender.
Whew.
