Spill but we can’t be mad ahout Tatiana winning.

The real tea is that Tatiana should have been nominated in 2013 and won.

    FYC:

"The Good Fight" and "The Other Two" in all categories.

And swap out Moss’ win for Margulies 1st and you’d have a pretty immaculate decade of winners, if so.

    11: Moss
    12: Danes
    13: Maslany
    14: Margulies
    15: Davis
    16: Russell
    17: Foy
    18: Oh
    19: Comer

    Oscars FYC:

"Lamb" – International Feature and all categories

"Summer of Soul" – Picture, Film Editing and Documentary Feature

“The Green Knight” – in all categories

Elisabeth Moss should have always competed in supporting, she was never a lead character in Mad Men.

Some of the trades have stated it’s a limited series whilst HBO’s official promotion says it’s a continuing drama series.

I guess the latter but hopefully we’ll know properly soon.

"The Good Fight" and "The Other Two" in all categories.

Limited supporting actress is already looking so strong compared to previous years. MacDowell, Coolidge and Dever all have SAG nom potential and all got GG nominations on top of that. Kinda crazy.

Keri should have easily won in 2016.

Yes, she should’ve won in both 2016 and 2018, wbk.

Back on topic, I just finished AVBS and Foy was excellent here. I don’t think this role was a stretch for her, but she shouldn’t really be penalised for that given the level of nuance she brought to the character. It was Bettany who surprised me though – he isn’t afraid to lean into the Duke’s menace and cruelty while still maintaining an enigmatic screen presence, unlike many male leads we see in British period productions. They’re now my personal favourites in their respective categories (give or take Chastain).

    For Your Consideration:

Carrie Coon, ‘The Gilded Age’ (no I haven’t seen it, but we have no choice but to stan anyway)

Keri should’ve easily won in 2016 and 2018.Tatiana was best in the third season and deserved for 2015(Even then I still prefer Danes slightly more for S4 of homeland but it would be a crime for Tatiana to go unawarded)

    Foy deserved!

Exactly. Her and Tatiana winning is one of the few things the academy has gotten right under this new system. Unimpeachable performances.

Speaking of AVBS, Foy is great as expected and Bettany keeps up with her as well as he could, but the show itself is thoroughly mediocre in practically every other aspect. I’d be fine if this ends up being an afterthought in the end.

Two of these Foy supporters have previously admitted they haven’t even watched The Americans 💀

I agree that the two central performances are stronger than the show itself, but given how important they are to the show working as a whole, I was still fairly engrossed and entertained. It’s similar to how I feel with Scenes From A Marriage. I definitely can understand those who found these shows boring though, and I personally wouldn’t nominate either for Series.

I don’t think Scenes From a Marriage was perfect and I did have quite a few issues with it but I also felt like the show received a bit too much criticism. Both its central characters had a lot of depth and equal weight in the story and it was quite a compelling series, unlike a certain recent divorce film that received universal acclaim somehow…

Something screams Marriage Story in my mind.

This show has an interesting cast, a baity premise, is directed by the director of Rocketman, is from the creator of Escape at Dannemora and with that release date is so clearly trying to aim for the Emmys.

    Problem is, it’s on Paramount+ 💀💀💀

    FYC:

"The Good Fight" and "The Other Two" in all categories.
