A huge nomination haul for the show (16 total), including Series and Supporting Actress for Sydney Sweeney. Colman Domingo and Martha Kelly(!) got guest nominations, and kudos to anyone who predicted the latter. And Zendaya got nominated four times.

She did nothing in Season 2. It’s obvious Sam Levinson never liked her/hated her

I don’t think she should be bashed for her family’s political allegiance though.

That being said, she handled the backlash poorly, combined with her previous PR disaster.

What was her previous PR disaster?

I think OP is referring to this from her THR interview earlier this month. I do think a lot of it got taken out of context though. That being said, she did handle the situation with this party poorly even if she’s not in control over what politics her family members possess.

1 huge problem this series has: 2024 is too long to wait. Right now: Euphoria is huge Worldwide. But their main stars are getting too old for their characters and I suppose Zendaya is too old already for her teen character

From Zendaya’s comments it didn’t sound like they were going to keep the high school setting for the next season.

does Kat being written out of the show mean we lose this king as well? Because he deserves more for the ICONIC performance he gave us in Lexi’s Play

I finally caught up with season 2 and honestly whilst I do have a lot of thoughts about how I felt about it, I don’t even think it warrants such a long or detailed review. What a repulsive, exploitative and regressive season of television (and I liked season 1).

That being said Zendaya and Domingo really did deserve the Emmy recognition they both received (especially the latter who is by far the stronger winner we’ve had in that category under this voting system) and I was actually quite struck by how much I appreciated “Stand Still Like the Hummingbird” as a standalone creative endeavour considering how loathsome the rest of the season was and how much I disliked the, at times cartoonish, direction most of these characters went towards this season after having much more grounded and naturally flowing arcs in season 1. The drama series nomination though? Lol. The fact that this is the only season of a teen drama alongside Stranger Things (which isn’t even much of a YA show) to get a drama series nomination when there have been so many YA shows over the past 25 to 30 years that have deserved that kind of recognition (including the first season of this show itself) is comical.

FYC: Better Call Saul and The Good Fight in all categories including Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.
