I will say that the « issue » with Viola is that she is one shade darker than Michelle lol

Why is this an issue? Denzel Washington was a few shades darker than Malcom X

I’ve been against this Viola casting since the start, but at least they did something with her makeup and it looks good. Or at least like they’re trying to do something.

Meanwhile over on Impeachment, Edie Falco’s Hillary is still Edie Falco in a wig, no matter how great her performance as Edie Falco in some wig pretending to be Hillary Clinton this last two episodes was.

So I’d still have to wait for at least a trailer for this.

This will likely be one of, if not the last limited series that airs on Showtime in the spring!

My only issue in my predictions with this show is the Showtime of it all. Sure there’s Escape at Dannemora but that was almost 3 years ago. The television landscape has quickly evolved and people are quickly ditching cable for streaming services. I definitely think The Good Lord Bird and The Loudest Voice were watched (Crowe and Hawke did make SAG after all) but they weren’t seen enough and voters didn’t really have the opportunity to catch up on either of them for their leads to make it into stiff fields.

Of course this show is going to be much baitier than either The Good Lord Bird and The Loudest Voice were and Showtime seem to already have a stronger campaign mounted for this so if its well received I do think at least one (if not all three) of the first ladies should be able to make it in at the Emmys. But I just worry with it not having a streaming home that it might not be seen as widely. FX have been struggling already with Impeachment and that’s third instalment of a two time Emmy winning franchise.

    FYC:

"The Good Fight" and "The Other Two" in all categories.

Same. They’re particularly struggling in the 18-49 demo (where they’ve never been that strong) compared to FX and losing things like Shameless and Homeland since Escape to Dannemora ended doesn’t help that (that ratio on American Rust makes CBS’s viewership look young). Their timing on this needs to be impeccable and they probably don’t have the wiggle room for anything but exemplary reviews.

Do we know when this is likely?

The makeup department totally nailed the looks of Eleanor Roosevelt and Betty Ford.

They all look good but I wish they used a picture where Viola’s face is relaxed like Michelle and Gillian
