Thinking of setting a deadline of January 8th at midnight GMT for list submissions, if people are okay with me doing the aggregate still. Basically, make sure your list is submitted by then to be counted, although I don’t mind if you change it later, but if you do please keep a copy of the list that you submitted before the deadline so I can move around the points. I’m going to follow the metacritic rules for aggregating:
1st place is 3 points. If you submit an unranked list but say “this performance is my favourite for sure, but everything else I can’t rank,” I’ll still give that top performance 3 points.
2nd place is 2 points.
3rd-10th place is 1 point.
11th-20th is .5 points.
21+ get no points.
If you submit a top ten list and then a bunch of honourable mentions, I’ll give them all .5 points unless your HMs make the total list exceed 20 performances, then the HMs won’t get any points. If you submit a top 5 and then 5 HMs, I’ll give all the HMs one point, but if you submitted 6 HMs I would give them all .5 points, as the list would now be 11.
If you submit an unranked list of ten or less performances, they all get 1 point. If you submit an unranked list of 11-20 performances, they all get .5 points. Feel free to separate your unranked lists into performances you want to give 1 point and performances you want to give .5 points (ie. a top ten and a second ten), or just leave it how it is.
Please let me know if the deadline is too soon for you, or if there’s any rules you think I should change!
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 5, 2023 at 10:46 pm #1205222399How are you counting joint performances from the same show in the one position? (Collette and Firth, Odenkirk and Seehorn etc).
If a duo ranked 3rd, would both get 1point to their running totals, would they get their points halved to 0.5? Or some other methodology?
ReplyCopy URLJanuary 5, 2023 at 11:03 pm #1205222410Oh great question, I haven’t been looking super closely at the rankings. I don’t want to force people to redo their lists, so for the example you’ve given I’ll just give them both a point. If anyone has an explanation of a better way to handle that please let me know! Although I’d also say that all the examples of people doing that so far are on unranked lists, if people try to game the system and say give two people a first or second placement so they can give out 6 points or 4 points I’ll probably halve it. I’m only leaving it that way now because the duos listed so far are done in good faith and aren’t going to seriously disrupt the rankings with an extra point
