I could see them putting Collette in supporting for The Staircase now

They weren’t big on Schitt’s Creek either though until after it swept the Emmys and nominated Kieran Culkin for Succession season 1 without the show (even though the complete opposite happened at the Emmys). I think they just take more time to come around to certain shows than the Emmys do but then don’t take long to catch up to them once the Emmys do.
FYC: Better Call Saul, The English and The Good Fight in all categories including Emily Blunt, Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.
If FX is willing to revive their campaign, some additional Under the Banner of Heaven nominations seem gettable here. I’d like to see one of Gil Birmingham or Wyatt Russell get in, but not sure how likely anybody is to turn back to the series.
It would be better to be separated Best Supporting in a Comedy Program and Best Supporting in a Drama Program.
That way comedy limited shows like The White Lotus and Chip N’ Dale: Rescue Rangers would go in the Comedy Program category while dramatic limited shows like The Dropout and The Staircase would go in the Drama Program category.

Colin Firth is a lock for a nomination. The one that could be out is Peters. But Garfield, Firth, Stan and Edgerton are in. I Will go for Glesson for the fifht slot.
Skimming through FlixPatrol top tens of the year so far and something interesting I noticed, was that only three currently airing original shows appeared in HBO Max’s top 10 in available European countries – Euphoria, The Staircase and Tokyo Vice.
Obviously most of us have the former two done as main contenders to repeat their Emmy noms/win but is Tokyo Vice being underestimated for a surprise Series and/or acting nom for either Elgort or Wannatabe?

Lol Peters is not missing for being in such a worldwide hit and playing this role. Not mentioning the HFPA loves Ryan Murphy, they nominate pretty much everything he does. Let’s not forget they even gave Ratched 3 nominations.

I feel content in saying they almost certainly won’t go out of their way to nominate another Emily in Paris but is last year reflective of the direction they’re headed in or is it just a fool’s errand to assume that and we’re about to be met with lots of off the wall surprises here. I have Christina Applegate (who got dropped last time round), Tony Shalhoub (although I’ll probably drop him if and when Jonathan Pryce drops down to supporting), Barry, Tyler James Williams and Elisabeth Moss (who was dropped for season 3 but made it back in last year) under the assumption that these voters will just go for their favourite performances and shows and then just check off perennial Emmy nominees if they can’t fill out their ballots like they did with Uzo Aduba, Mark Duplass and Anthony Anderson last year. But then at the same time I just wonder, should I really be predicting Barry and Shalhoub when they’re essentially also rans and the HFPA haven’t exactly taken to them so much in the past (never giving a single win to the former and not even nominating the latter after he won the Emmy)? Paddy Considine, Anthony Carrigan and Christopher Walken were all really compelling alternates in particular with the former two being passion picks and the latter being a big name in a show I’m predicting to do well here who also got an Emmy nod. But then again it just feels weird to predict House of the Dragon and Barry to perform so well here when the Globes aren’t usually so high on genre and the latter. Maybe I should just throw logic out of the window here lmao.
Olivia Williams I guess you could say is my NGNG pick because if there’s one thing I can feel confident (of which there is little) about when predicting idiosyncrasy it’s that there are few trends that never end and I anticipate that this organisation’s obsession with The Crown will be one of them.
