I just switched Garner for Murphy but yeah, it’s a 4 way race here.
And HBC could be the win that shock us all, as the globes already did in the past.ReplyCopy URLFYC:

February 27, 2021 at 2:48 pm #1204065173I was contemplating switching Murphy for Anderson, but the idea of The Crown winning every possible category just seemed a bridge too far for me. I was also contemplating that they’d vote for Bateman over O’Connor in Lead Actor Drama, which would free up a vote for Anderson, but ultimately I kept things as they were. Maybe it even helps Murphy that she’s the only comedy nominee and, at least in my current predictions, the only representative of her show winning.
When you consider the HFPA’s desire for celebrities, it still surprises me that they’ve stuck with these merged supporting categories through the years.

Rhea Seehorn ofc.
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 27, 2021 at 3:05 pm #1204065192It really doesn’t feel right predicting a Schitts shut out but I can’t really predict it anywhere. I’m sort of confident in Ted Lasso taking series, Sudeikis is a lock, Cuoco seems like a very globes thing & she’s been campaining, Anderson for me seems obvious, supporting actor is a complete mess

February 27, 2021 at 4:42 pm #1204065310Anderson feels like this year’s Meryl Streep (except I think she will win the Emmy because who is going to stop her?). Nixon feels like this year’s Helena Bonham Carter in the sense that she’s overdue, has a lot of individual buzz going for her and she delivers a strong performance in a show nominated multiple times but the HFPA kind of ignores her for the win.
I have Murphy winning because I see her as the Jane Lynch of Schitt’s Creek. She is considered to be one of the MVPs (if not the MVP by some) of the show and specifically of its final season, this is the role that has thrust her into the limelight and led her to garner other roles (including in the anticipated Kevin Can Go F*** Himself which had its trailer (which went viral) released during voting).
However people really are sleeping on Julia Garner here. She not only has the buzz of being an even bigger star than she was before she won her first of two consecutive Emmys but she also has added buzz from her performance in The Assistant. She is leading a highly anticipated Shonda Rhimes miniseries on Netflix this year. I’m still going to have Murphy as my NGNG prediction because I think she’ll be the place they award Schitt’s but if anyone ends up being the Patricia Arquette of this year it’s Garner.

February 27, 2021 at 7:30 pm #1204065547Guys, what if Lily Collins wins? They like her. They like the show. It could happen.

I mean Yvonne, but I just cannot find her gif.
Although this might be SAG’s stuff, I’m still in team O’Hara. She’s just undeniably great and I think GG wants to honour her for her marvelous career (although they perhaps aren’t really familiar with her proven by zero nomination before).
