I think The Last of Us and Poker Face could be contributing a lot to these categories in addition to the usual SNL presence.

How do episodic anthologies like FOX’s Accused and Apple TV+’s upcoming Extrapolations fit in? Can they compete in guest categories?

Serkis and Shaw should be frontrunners for Andor.

Have a great day if you see this!

In terms of true episodic anthologies (i.e zero linking cast between episodes), I don’t believe so under the current rules because limited/anthology doesn’t have guest categories, so they need to be bumped up to supporting even if they’re only in a single episode. Dev Patel did get in as guest in 2020 for Modern Love, but I believe they’ve changed the rules since.

It is my duty to say that he’ll definitely be guest eligible again for s5. Whether Maisel is strong enough to support him here remains to be seen obv.

McElhonne had really fantastic hold on IMDB for The Crown, better than some of the mains.

I can see her coattailing if the Television Academy voters take to Jonathan Pryce’s performance as much as the HFPA did (which I really hope they don’t). With Parker, Shaw and Torv and then Jones, Lynskey, Reid and Walter to come it does feel like the competition might get quite stiff though (and these are only those in the top series contenders!)

FYC: Better Call Saul, The English and The Good Fight in all categories including Emily Blunt, Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.

Anyone else impressed with Christine Hakim in the recent episode of The Last of Us ? I think she’d be a great option here

Ana de Armas, Julianne Nicholson - Blonde (Best Actress, Supporting Actress)
Samantha Morton - She Said (Best Supporting Actress)

She looks sort of independent to Pryce TBH. She has the sort of pattern with previous peaks (i.e peaking for a PBS/Britbox show*) that suggests to me slightly older viewers might naturally love her. I picked this up with Will Poulter and Dopesick last year despite it not feeling buzzy

I’m not usually a fan of recent Oscar nominees/winners getting name-checked in the guest categories but I hope Hong Chau gets name-checked to a nomination for Poker Face. She was delicious in the second episode.

FYC: Better Call Saul, The English and The Good Fight in all categories including Emily Blunt, Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.

    Christine Hakim

I think she’ll be overlooked in favour of Melanie, Anna, or Storm personally. I did like her performance though.
