Just finished this and this was so, so beautiful. I wish I could have had a show like this when I was just a bit younger. Sure, it has its occasional narrative cliches, but it’s honestly a breath of fresh air to have queer representation that’s “cheesy” or “mushy” instead of ones laden with overly intense trauma or themes of death and agony. I loved the amusing, charismatic, and surprisingly complex characters and wonderful needle drops, too. Really enjoyed this and I recommend everyone give this a viewing if they’re able. Cute, lighthearted watch if you want to smile and just have a good time.

Is this show actually good or is it Love Victor good where it manages to get good reviews just because of its semi-groundbreaking nature? Nothing I saw in the trailer seemed to imply anything more than the most basic of storytelling with all the typical tropes of a high school drama.

It’s really good and I say that as someone who hates Love, Victor.

This show was soo good, I really hope it gets renewed. Great writing, amazing young actors with great chemistry and Olivia Colman – you don’t need more.

It’s nothing you haven’t seen before but it’s very good. It leaves a feeling of warmth in your heart and you forget about everything else in those 240 minutes. The performances are all good, especially from the two leads. It has its cliche moments but nothing that drags the story or anything of that sort.

This feels more grounded in reality than Love Victor, which I actually really enjoy watching btw, but Heartstopper isn’t as heavy-handed as Love Victor.

This is what Love Victor could have been if the two leads actually had any ounce of chemistry between them and was a little less heavy handed.

This was so, so cute, I loved every second spent in this world. Loved the main two characters, loved Tao and especially Elle, would have loved to have spent more time with Tara, Darcy and Jacob too. Every LGBTQ+ teen should get to have Olivia Colman play their mother.

FYC: "What We Do in the Shadows" and "Severance" in everything, Natasha Rothwell ("Insecure"), Sophie Thatcher ("Yellowjackets"), Renee Elise Goldsberry ("Girls5eva"), James Caverly, ("Only Murders in the Building")

Also bravo for season length (a simple, one afternoon binge) and casting.

Beloved character actress Rachel Hilson and (Daytime) Emmy nominee Anthony Turpel must be in so pain from carrying the show on their backs.

Some of the dialogue in this was up there with the worst I’ve ever seen but overall I really, really enjoyed this. It is precisely what it sets out to be.

I’m gonna be honest some of the acting in this show is not the best. Kit Connor is clearly the best actor in the cast and really bought to life the character from the comic. Olivia Colman did the best with the limited screentime she was given. The actor who played Harry was clearly the worst one wow. Overall I love the show and it was so heart warming

I love Love Victor and it’s monumental in its own storytelling. But unlike Heartstopper, another show I liked, Love Victor focuses on a teen from a half Puerto Rican, half Colombian-American family. It is bound to be more heavy-handed. While Heartstopper focuses on the story of a white teenage couple with more accepting parents, and hence the chemistry is more developed.

Both stories can exist! And it’s wonderful today’s teenagers from LGTBQ+ community are getting that

I actually found him to be so bad he was almost realistic. Because kids like that, from my experience at least, are always putting on a relentless act and show for their mates around them so the way he was so adamantly one-note *almost* worked for me
