It’s kinda surreal to me that it’s premiering in four days…

Shows 60 for me so it probably started with that then went to 71.

That’s not disastrous, but Rotten Tomatoes is going to matter here. There was a bit of a weird, anti-pricey fantasy vibe running through the Sandman Metacritic reviews (which has a near identical score) a few weeks ago that wasn’t really reflected wholesale on either Rotten Tomatoes or user scores.

Well, some parts of the negative reviews are actually funny:)

Some reviewers are complaining about ,,too many Targaryens in a Targaryen show…., to much fire and blood, no clear hero or villain, slow burn, are confused by the names (Rhaenyra vs. Rhaenys), bad wigs…. no Tyrion….

I see the slowly building story as a positive (no rushing towards big fancy battles), it´s also good to hear about the characters… I want them to be complex, not a black and white… Just like from the books 🙂

Yep this was exactly the same in the Sandman reviews and I had a suspicion it would translate here – like they’d decided everything genre needs to be a Marvel black vs white limited series with an action sequence. Some of the reviews have some valid points but there’s a lot of projection in them as to what they thing audiences will like.

We do need to bear in mind Metacritic reviewers are frequently a pool of less than 30 people these days,  and a lot of regular sorts just check if that score is green/favourable. (and that Dopesick was also 68 and has done pretty damn well for itself).

Some of the critics are unwarranted I give you that but why can’t they get some decent wigs for once especially in a show centered around the Targaryens?  It was bad enough when they re-used Viserys’ wig for Rhaegar in GOT ☠️

The wig part just made me smile, that´s all….  Yes, there are some wonky looking ones, especially on Paddy, young Laenor and one or two on Matt.. But other than that, I think everybody looks fabulous. I would love to know how many people worked on the wigs, and how much they cost…. Dany´s wig was like 4.000 dollars, and I belive she had 3

Someone wrote an article on wigs the other week!

They are expensive. I get the impression uber platinum blonde is not the easiest to make work either.

Honestly, with respect to Emilia, it always looked like a wig or a brutal peroxide job, we just got used to it.

Hovering. That’s going to be a tough audience sell if that falls below fresh I think

Thank you for the article 🙂 I didn´t mind Dany´s wig except for the curls…. Missandei had to curl her hair like 4 times a day 😏
