Premieres on Sunday, June 7, 2020 @ 10:30 PM on HBO.

79 with 12 reviews so far on Metacritic, which will likely be it. All kinds of raves for Michaela Coel (“Chewing Gum”) and the provocative premise of the series. HBO hasn’t labeled this as a limited series yet, but it might be too dark to be called a comedy series beyond the half-hour distinction. Regardless, the trailer really intrigued me, so here we go at least for the pilot!

Episode Title: “Eyes Eyes Eyes Eyes” (Pilot)

Synopsis: After visiting her long-distance boyfriend in Italy, burgeoning writer Arabella returns to London, where she’s greeted by a deluge of frantic messages from her literary agents. With a matter of hours left to finish a draft of her second book, she plans to pull an all-nighter, but is soon tempted to join a friend on a night out.

Just watched the pilot. For reference, HBO is now calling this a limited series, so that confusion can end. Michaela Coel is indeed amazing. You can’t take your eyes off of her, which is apt given the episode title. The supporting cast isn’t as compelling, so that’s a bit disappointing. Very British series in content and approach. I love that, but I can see how this will be a difficult sell for American audiences, even on HBO. The abrupt plot turn at the end really intrigued me. For that reason, I’m in for more episodes.

Oh I enjoyed it . Didn’t know what to expect. Did read article that future episodes you get to see other people point of view of the night.

The supporting will be more flesh out that way during the 12 episodes.

Im a big fan of her ever since Chewing Gum on Netflix .

Kord keeps making new accounts on here every time he gets banned so it wouldn’t surprise me if he’s gone for an account we all recognise this time so as to more easily slip under the radar. Kinda silly if that is the case given that the Sasha account always gets quickly blocked as well

After that first ep I’m definitely in.

I watch the trailer, so I knew what this is all about, but there was something so incredibly tense about the second half.
My anxiousness was growing with each passing minute, because I subconsciously was seeing potential perpetrator in every new character..

That was so well played and structured.

    Episode 2

    Grade : A+
    MVP : Michaela Coel

Wow this was such a tense, chilling yet at times perfectly humorous episode! What I found clever was that this episode kept you at the edge of your seat, made you feel tense and nervous without explicitly showing “the incident” at hand.

FYC: Better Call Saul, The English and The Good Fight in all categories including Emily Blunt, Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.

Loved this show pretty much instantly, and although only 2 episodes have been released it has a really clear identity. Michaela Coel is really captivating.

    Episode Title: “Someone Is Lying”

Synopsis: Lunch with Terry gets Arabella thinking about the hazy events of the previous night, prompting her to probe Simon for answers. Growing increasingly desperate to put together the pieces, Arabella drops by Simon’s apartment, and, later, finds herself at an unwelcoming doorstep. Meanwhile, Terry has a lousy audition, and a concerned Kwam rushes to Arabella’s side.

This episode was better than the pilot. I’m instantly drawn to Michaela Coel whenever she’s onscreen. I’ve never seen a character like Arabella before, which is exciting. The story is taking fuller form, and I’m ready to see where the journey takes us. I see that HBO is moving this show to Mondays, which is code for not giving a shit about it and not knowing what to do with it on Sundays. That’s deflating, but whatever. My enthusiasm for the work remains the same regardless.

<p style=”text-align: left;”>I loved the line ‘good, or good considering?’ She’s such a talented writer as well as performer.</p>
The show is making bigger waves here in the UK as expected, but I hope it finds its footing amongst international audiences. I imagine it’ll be a big online hit.

What is this considered as a comedy or a drama?

Also is this considered as a limited series?

It’s a limited series. The rest is subjective and doesn’t matter for Emmy consideration. I think the marketing places this as a comedy. I think of it as a drama, or at least a dark comedy.
