Instead of titling the episode Stand by your man, they should have called it Hillary, Hillary, Hillary.

I don’t see how Paulson goes supporting. She has been heavily featured even in the Monica-centric episode, and only missed one episode. Going by the promo, she’ll be back center stage next week. Both Beanie and Sarah will be campaigned as leads. They have Light, Martindale, Ashford, Smulders, Sorvino, and Falco in supporting. If Paulson goes supporting, watch Martindale get nominated over her because the TV academy loves Martindale.

beanie is clearly going lead. They probably won’t want a person from her show going against her. Therefore that would leave Sarah and Edie and Amaligh for supporting and I’m can only guess Clive Owen for supporting actor as well (I don’t see him as a lead).

Sarah Paulson NEVER supports in a Ryan Murphy show unless Jessica Lange is the lead.

I’ve only seen two episodes (it’s airing weekly here and only just started last week lol) but Paulson was arguably just as much a lead in the second episode which was quite Monica and Paula centric lol.

    FYC:

"The Good Fight" and "The Other Two" in all categories.

Paulson’s lead, that post didn’t deserve this much conversation because it’s truly obvious.

Anyways,  nice of Falco to pop in and remind everyone she’s one of the greatest living tv actresses.

As someone who is behind on the season may I ask does the writing get more consistent as it progresses? Because my issue with this season where I’m at thus far isn’t its performances (Feldstein, Ashford, Smulders and Light in particular have all been fantastic from the episodes I’ve seen) but rather that the characterisations are so faulty in the writing. Which is a shame because the previous two seasons of this show were excellent in how they captured their complex characters and in incorporating each perspective.

    FYC:

"The Good Fight" and "The Other Two" in all categories.

It’s never boring but the writing is never particularly interesting or insightful, no. The show feels like a re-enactment from a documentary rather than a piece with a real point of view.

Shook coming into this thread after watching Tuesday’s episode and seeing people think Edie Falco can get nominated and/or win for this. What?

I love me some Edie Falco — she gives one of my all time favorite performances in The Sopranos but I thought this episode was a lesser Whitecaps for her. She just isn’t Hillary. It’s never not Edie in a wig. Regardless, this isn’t coming anywhere near the Emmy’s.

I thought Owen was very good in this episode though.

If voters are still watching, I think this has potential for multiple acting nominations. Maybe not limited series, but at least supporting contenders. Falco was excellent here and more than earned an Emmy nomination. It all hinges on what’s being viewed and when. The series is at its peak right now, but critics didn’t screen the later episodes. That’s the risk of not screening the entire season and saying things like “Falco doesn’t do anything” or “we forget that Bill Clinton has a wife” that run counter to the showcase episode Hillary was given late-run.
