Premature to say that when we still don’t know what the hosting environment will be or what the format is but yeah I kind of agree he will thrive without category presenters running around and a big fancy packed ceremony.
I’m being optimistic. I said I “think” Kimmel will thrive, not that I “know” he will do so.

And the other previous ABC ceremony (2012) as well.
ReplyCopy URLJune 16, 2020 at 4:32 pm #1203537235Is there a reason known why Fallon turned hosting down the year Che/Jost hosted? Lorne Michaels? I think Kimmel will thrive in this new hosting environment.
I’m not sure, but maybe it had something to do with the last time he hosted the Globes, where he did a horribly shitty job and was almost entirely absent from it outside of his opening sequence.
ReplyCopy URLJune 16, 2020 at 8:26 pm #1203537609At least there’s a pulse that we’re going to get an Emmy award show to begin with. But I say hold ’em under strict guidelines; temperature checks at the door, social distancing, mandatory masks and maybe cutting the live crowd in half. But have a live show, not another virtual thing. The cancellation of the creative arts ceremony exposes the lack of confidence in their own belief they could keep things safe. There are only so many virtual events one can take. I think we’re all getting tired of those.
I know I’m setting myself up as the bad guy here, but how long do we have to go virtual? *shakes head*….

I would move it to the main broadcast and KEEP. ‘EM. THERE.
ReplyCopy URLJune 22, 2020 at 2:25 am #1203545634Didn’t know where else to post this but if there are no category presenters this year if we have a live ceremony due to Covid-19 that is actually a good thing. The awkwardness of Luke Kirby and Jane Lynch presenting Directing in a Comedy Series is an example of why.

I think it would be interesting if the winner presents the next category and so on, to avoid less people on stage as possible and it would also be a fun addition.

ReplyCopy URLJune 23, 2020 at 12:29 pm #1203548281This was common knowledge and Kimmel already apologized back then. Much ado…
