Twelve more cast members have been set for The Nevers.
The Nevers is an epic science fiction drama about a gang of Victorian women, known as “The Touched,” who find themselves with unusual abilities, relentless enemies, and a mission that could change the world.
Laura Donnelly (Outlander, Tolkein) leads the series as Amalia True, the most reckless, impulsive, emotionally damaged hero of her time. Nick Frost (Fighting With My Family, Into the Badlands) portrays Declan Orrun, aka the Beggar King, a low-level crime lord who’s perfectly happy to help Amalia and her cause — and equally happy to sell them out. Denis O’Hare (HBO’s Big Little Lies and True Blood) plays Dr. Edmund Hague: a gifted American surgeon who uses his skills in the coldest, most brutal way possible. Olivia Williams (Rushmore) takes the role of Lavinia Bidlow, wealthy spinster and champion of “The Touched” who funds the orphanage where Amalia and many of them live.
Also joining the cast are actors Ann Skelly (Kissing Candace) as Penance Adair, Amalia’s dearest friend and one of the first women to join her cause; Zackary Momoh (Seven Seconds) who portrays Doctor Horatio Cousens, a successful West Indian physician whose fortunes took a dark turn when he met Amalia and discovered his own ability, but now works with her and the Beggar King; Tom Riley (Dark Heart) playing Lavinia’s sweet, disarming younger brother Augustus “Augie” Bidlow, a keen ornithologist who’s more than happy to let his older sister take the reins of the family fortune; and James Norton (Grantchester) as pansexual posh boy Hugo Swann, Augie’s nefarious best friend and secret club owner who’s fascinated by “The Touched.”
Rounding the ensemble out are Amy Manson (Once Upon a Time) who joins the cast as Maladie, a woman so warped by a power she can’t understand that she’s driven to live underground, run a gang and go on an infamous murder spree. Rochelle Neil (Episodes) takes the role of Annie Carbey (aka Bonfire), a career criminal with the ability to control fire who came up rough and stayed that way; Eleanor Tomlinson (Poldark) is Mary Brighton, a gentle but resilient woman who pursued her dream of singing on stage despite a disappointing career and broken engagement; Ben Chaplin (Snowden) serves as the big, gruff and deeply moral Detective Frank Mundi, a man caught between the powerful (who ignore the laws of the land) and “The Touched” (who ignore the laws of physics.); and Pip Torrens (The Crown) as the staunch, unflappable Lord Massen, a former General who’s determined to protect the established order from these strange people.

Not all the episodes have been filmed. At least two have, but possibly four according to a recent interview with Denis O’Hare.May 25, 2020 at 8:52 am #1203499768
I’m really unsure of its Emmys chances- depends on the execution- but I’m excited to watch it. Sounds promising.May 25, 2020 at 3:17 pm #1203500385
With Bernadette Caulfield (Game of Thrones) as the executive producer and Seamus McGarvey as the cinematographer for a couple of the episodes, the chances of this show being executed well are pretty good. Plus there’s Joss.April 12, 2021 at 7:17 pm #1204197022
So, the first episode was… OK?
The production design and effects are efficient, but nothing in the story and characters has attracted me yet.April 12, 2021 at 7:44 pm #1204197054
I found it a bit boring. And So many characters.. I will keep watching Bc I like the cast and it’s six episodes.
also, actress said things will be clarified soon.
they keep saying that they will film rest of season . But I really doubt it . Hbo will probably want to get rid anything with Whedon name. Even though he left it’s still created by him.April 12, 2021 at 7:59 pm #1204197079
Why does HBO prioritise the release of this first over In Treatment? I mean this won’t be a supposedly big award player like the latter that’s going to be released in the brink of being ineligible. It’s better to release this later in summer in my opinion.
