The BatmanApril 19, 2020 at 12:07 pm #1203435489So, continuing the people not making in without their series/movie conversation:
I have both Chris Evans and Russell Crowe getting in without their series. Should I switch them for two of Jeremy Pope, Jeremy Irons, or Hugh Jackman?
April 19, 2020 at 1:28 pm #1203435671Keep Russell Crowe. The difference between him and people like Connie Britton, Julianna Margulies, Emma Stone and Ruth Wilson is that he has hit everything, winning the Globe and getting SAG, Critics’ Choice and Satellite nominations. He has proved himself like so many other Showtime stars over the years as being a strong contender in spite of his weak show. We will know in a week whether Defending Jacob is a thing.
April 19, 2020 at 1:32 pm #1203435689Plus, The Loudest Voice has quietly managed to snag Best Limited Series Globe and Critics’ Choice noms, plus a WGA citation – and I say quietly because I think it’s often forgotten. Crowe is in. If the field were more stacked, I’d be concerned, but the stars have aligned for him perfectly.
As for Chris Evans, I am pretty sure Defending Jacob is not going to make any waves at all. And I highly doubt he’d even get in if it did.
April 19, 2020 at 2:22 pm #1203435777Also, Crow has the performance too, and that too a transformational one, so there’s that.
April 19, 2020 at 2:37 pm #1203435791Current Combined Odds
1. Ruffalo (-)
2. Crowe (-)
3. Paul (↓)
4. Jackman (↓)
5. Irons (↑)
6. Holland (↓)
7. Scott (↓)
8. Corenswet (↑)
9. Pope (↑)
–
I would keep Ruffalo, Crowe, and Irons. Pick up both Corenswet & Pope. Choose one of Paul, Jackman and Scott for the TV Movie slot. As mentioned, Holland is third priority behind Hollywood and Unbelievable. I would need to see a shift in campaigning from Netflix, but that would literally be them tearing down all of the Hollywood billboards they have plastered all up and down Sunset Blvd and replacing them with The Eddy ones which I dont see them doing. Hollywood is just way more accessible of a show than The Eddy.My Current Predictions
1. Ruffalo
2. Crowe
3. Corenswet
4. Irons
5. Pope
6-8. Paul/Scott/Jackman
