Not awards material I guess but still I was surprised for how much I enjoyed this. It’s a mystery horror comedy with a solid directing and writing by Joe Cornish who hasn’t lost his charme since Attack the Block. There’s a strong metaphor that never gets in the way of the story. And the brit cast is simply chef kiss, I haven’t seen so much chemistry between two leads in a while.

Absolutely not your average teen-thing, a true gem that I hope Netflix won’t waste (but I’m positive that it will be renewed, and if not, I’d still recommend the fun and witty ride).

FWIW this is fully BAFTA eligible (and heavily directed towards the UK, the US critics said they struggled to get screeners) so it’s worth contextualizing in terms of that rather than Emmys.

Just a heads up the numbers aren’t great from an overall perspective but they’re OK on the UK side I believe, so it’s going to depend on what’s priority to Netflix.

That’s true, the renewal it’s not a sure bet but I’ve read that the completion rate is encouraging and the engagement is here (over 300 millions of TikTok views!). So… let’s hope!

The cast is amazing, I think Cameron Chapman in particular is a revelation.
