Question, when they submit to awards, will actresses like Jamie Cheung and Aunjanue Ellis be eligible for Lead or supporting. They were the leads in their episodes, but not for the series.September 30, 2020 at 3:36 pm #1203746340

Both are Supporting. From my point of view, Jonathan Majors and Jurnee Smollett are the protagonists.September 30, 2020 at 3:39 pm #1203746354
I’m expecting that the only leads will be Majors & Smollett.October 3, 2020 at 10:52 pm #1203757932

This is the craziest show I’ve ever seen lol. Now I’m firmly in to the end. I hope it sticks its landing though, which could go either way.October 10, 2020 at 10:32 pm #1203770874

This episode was about the Tulsa Race Riot of 1921. Very moving and intense. The narrative is finally starting to come together, which is convenient as it all ends next week. And Regina Taylor! I haven’t seen her act in ages. What a treat.October 18, 2020 at 12:13 am #1203785465

Finally caught up just in time for the finale. This show is so grandiose and beyond spectacular. Might be the most ambitious thing I’ve seen on TV since Game of Thrones. Dare I say it’s even more so than Watchmen.
The acting is extremely strong. Majors, Ellis, Smollet, Mosaku, Vance, Chung and my personal favorite Michael K. Williams are turning in award-worthy performances. Writing is better in later than initial episodes. The 9th episode should be a Directing submission. It’s a visual masterpiece and all crafts are extraordinary. Let’s go finale!October 19, 2020 at 9:10 am #1203788315
The finale reverted to the incoherent nonsense of the early episodes, which is unfortunate given some of the series peaks in the second half. I tried harder than anyone here with this show, but that scorched ending was not worth the journey getting there. It’ll be a radically different season 2 if HBO decides to renew. I’m taking this out of most of my Globes predictions. Smollett might survive on name recognition alone.October 19, 2020 at 5:42 pm #1203789964
Overall, this was one hell of a show. I finally finished it. I was angry at moments, confused, sad, happy, and hopeful. Of course, there were some things that I did not like, but, overall, this show needs another season.October 19, 2020 at 5:48 pm #1203789994

I was so teary eyed during this episode. Seeing Regina Taylor was such a delight.October 19, 2020 at 8:26 pm #1203790308
Agree with atypical, after a really strong second half the finale tonight didn’t really work for me. Interested to see what the awards reception of this one isNovember 7, 2020 at 2:57 pm #1203822520
After a long break, I finally watched the last two episodes and have to say that despite a strong penultimate episode the season finale was just terrible. More importantly, what is the plot of this show exactly? It started out as something but ended as something completely else. The structure was so weird and disjointed that I don’t think it’s even intentional. I did not read the source material, but the show should have been an episodic anthology that puts African American experience into different genre ventures. This was something the show strived for and achieved in standalone moments which were the only saving grace for me. The cast was fine but I particularly found Wunmi Mosaku as the standout. That being said, I expect this go nowhere in terms of awards.
