Also, Macdowell is phenomenal and in my opinion potentially threatening Jennifer Coolidge as next year’s supporting frontrunner.

I’ve never liked Andie McDowell, but this performance really took the biscuit

Bill Hader and Barry in everything (2 babka)
The Great - Elle Fanning, Nicholas Hoult and comedy writing and directing

Severance in drama series, writing, Adam Scott for best actor, Ben Stiller for drama directing, and the whole cast in supporting.

Both Anika and Andie > Coolidge

Both Anika and Andie > Coolidge

I’m not taking about Coolidge at all. On its own, Andie’s performance was not good. A shrill and hammy portrayal of an unstable mother, of an artist. I thought many of her choices around the character were borderline mocking and reduced the character to a weak caricature.

While Qualley didn’t give quite enough, Andie gave way too much. It was jarring.

One is of course entitled to their own opinion but I’m surprised there’s been such a divisive reaction towards Macdowell and Noni Rose’s performances on here. I liked both of them (although I did prefer Macdowell).

I liked Andie, but Anika was definitely my favorite of the two. In fact, she was my second favorite in the cast after Margaret (who was just flawless). Her presence was just so magnetic. Plus, the monologue in episode 4!! Oh, and her voice is so goddamn beautiful.

It was so nice seeing Anika get an opportunity like this. She was great on The Good Wife.
