The only main cast member to never be nominated, for which is particularly bad when you know that, with the exception of the once nominated Georgia Engel, every single other member of the main cast won an Emmy. At least MacLeod got a few Globe nods.

It is bad. I saw an acceptance speech made by Ted Knight and he mentioned Gavin.

What really shooked me was the fact that ”The Practice” won 5 years in a row in the male guest category for 5 different actors. I mean, wow!

(I know there weren’t guest categories when they won, but I think it is something important to remember)

Apparently the show even acknowledged it. I’m currently only on the second season, but I recall hearing about how they had an entire later on where the plot was based around MacLeod never being recognized with a story about how his character was the only person working for the channel who had yet to win an award.

Correction…Beulah Bondi won for the category “Lead Actress in a Single Performance.” That’s more of a guest win.
