Just watched the first ep of Season 2 (written by Mindy Kaling) and the show is back in fine form. They are definitely expanding the canvas and I love how much Poorna Jagannathan is being given to do. Common was also a hoot in his scene.
The Pros & Cons board was a great gag. Make sure to read all the cards.
Team Ben!

I hate being drowned in teen American drama but here we are.ReplyCopy URLFYC:

Woo! She was so good this season.
I love how the show explores Devi’s grief, but I kinda check out on the love triangle stuff. Don’t get me wrong it’s well done, the best I’ve seen in a while, but I have just outgrown arcs like that.
Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and Poorna Jaganathan were once again the highlights. Give them all the awards!
ReplyCopy URLJuly 19, 2021 at 4:38 am #1204352601Season 2 is better than season 1, but I really didn’t like the finale. Kaling is a genius and she will get new stories for the show, however it should end right now IMO.
(It’s sad that Emily in Paris is an Emmy nominee and Never Have I Ever isn’t)

May 9, 2022 at 2:12 am #1204946693Niecy Nash should be nominated for guest actress for her season 2 work!
ReplyCopy URLAugust 13, 2022 at 9:20 am #1205044261The best teen comedy is back! (Maybe even the best current teen-centered show of TV maybe??)
I thought it was maybe its strongest season. Many of the side character’s plotlines were a little sloppy and rushed (Fabiola, Aneesa, Eleanor) or just underused (Kamala), but I really enjoyed the character development they gave Devi, Paxton, Ben and Nalini.
Here I am once again… yelling into the void that Poorna Jagannathan should get nominated for this role. She and Ramakrishnan are just too good in the finale!

ReplyCopy URLAugust 13, 2022 at 11:12 pm #1205044745This truly was the strongest season! Seems like Mindy worked on past complaints and worked on what makes the show so strong. The wit and comedy is in top form and the character development everyone gets this season is fabulous.
Nandini remains my favorite but special mention to Pati (Devi’s grandmother) who was hilarious. Maitreyi is a legit star. I really hope Hollywood treats her well
