I checked, and there was no thread for this show. The show’s official twitter was activated and Ewan is on the last print issue of Entertainment Weekly. The show starts streaming on Disney+ on May 25, 2022.
Hello there.

The force is strong with EW & Ewan McGregor! For our final print cover before going all-digital, we’re all in on #ObiWanKenobi, revealing first look episodic images of McGregor as Kenobi, Joel Edgerton as Uncle Owen, and a fearsome new #StarWars villain. https://t.co/brdtgkSBAC pic.twitter.com/L9YpbfTV6z

March 9, 2022 at 12:02 pm #1204838312Surprised to hear its a limited series rather than a drama. Good Emmy chances for the show and Ewan McGregor.

May 19, 2022 at 11:25 pm #1204957465Not that I necessarily think Obi-Wan was going to be good, but McGregor might have set himself up with this comment:
Ewan McGregor explains how #ObiWanKenobi differs from The Mandalorian, revealing that it's like one long movie that's been split up into episodes.https://t.co/NprGwlVNid pic.twitter.com/UoNNcTEKnh

Oh…no. When are they going to learn this comment is not a positive reflection of a TV show?
With this and all the “you’ll recognize so many things!!” nostalgia-bait comments my hopes are not high.

I love Star Wars and I’ll totally watch this but I have to be honest, the fact that they’ve chosen that date and to run in 2023 (after knowing how Loki has performed with an early release date) doesn’t fill me with massive confidence on the Emmys side.
ReplyCopy URLMay 20, 2022 at 6:30 am #1204957799Yeah, I was looking forward to this but after the disappointment of Book of Boba Fett my hopes have been severely diminished. Hayden Christensen was always a major negative for me, but then Rupert Friend also looked god-awful as the Inquisitor in that trailer I saw, and now this “TV as a long movie” comment BS.

Is this going to be a Emmy contender?

We’re in 2022 and still hating Hayden’s acting? Is this 2005?

ReplyCopy URLMay 27, 2022 at 8:44 am #1204965348I watched the first episode it was excellent. I don’t if this will placed in limited series or drama as far as the Emmys are concerned.
I can see it sneaking in a best direction nomination and also clean up the tech categories.
There are really no big acting moments. I don’t see any acting nominations for now

I only watched all Star Wars movies a couple of years ago. Hayden’s acting is truly bad, but he’s so handsome. And he’s turned into one hot daddy. I don’t care about his acting, I wanna give birth to his babies.

Hayden was good in Life as a House. He even had strong Oscar buzz for that performance.
He was also good in Shattered Glass.
