Does what it says on the tin, with the prediction centre being open for just over 10 days now, the odds have had time to settle down after initial opening week madness.
What prediction seems like a no brainier to you, but everyone else is blind towards?

It’s so obvious to me she’ll get nominated.

— Yellowstone is going to explode in acting
— Samuel L. Jackson can win Limited Actor
— Seth Rogen isn’t happening as his shows only nom.February 24, 2022 at 11:23 pm #1204816534I don’t think Ted Lasso will be the only comedy series contender to get two supporting actress nominees whilst the remaining six in the supporting actress category are from six different shows.
With the type of results the unlimited ballot tends to bring forward in supporting acting categories (i.e. 3 Barry actors over Andrew Scott, 2 TMS actors over Tom Pelphrey etc) I think either Marin Hinkle is returning for Maisel or Hacks will get another supporting actress in (one or both of Kaitlin Olson and Meg Stalter).

February 24, 2022 at 11:34 pm #1204816547– Zendaya is vulnerable for the nomination
– Sterling K Brown is not missing for the final season of his show
– Ben Foster is not happening for a mid TV Movie regardless of his personal reviews
– Better Call Saul is not gonna get half the nominations people are predicting for it.

Have to agree with this one

I think Sebastian Stan is closest to a nom. What hurts Lily James in particular (more so than Stan) is Pamela Anderson’s vocal disapproval of the show.

People are overpredicting Euphoria because they don’t understand who the voters for Emmys are.
People are overpredicting Succession in acting.
February 25, 2022 at 12:42 am #1204816596Regardless of whether they get in or don’t, Seth Rogen isn’t getting nominated for playing the person who steals and leaks the sex tape without both the leads also being nominated.
Perfectly put!

With regards to Yellowstone, I had Costner in until very recently (I’ll put him in again) because he just feels like a surprise nomination considering that the nature of the show Yellowstone will likely appeal to a lot of the voters. Also Costner is a liked actor.
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 25, 2022 at 1:26 am #1204816644Stranger Things is not only happening somewhere above the line, it’s sweeping up whatever debuts in the surrounding week or two with it (which is TBA). People have entirely forgotten how big that show is when it’s on and how much Netflix shows build viewership in their offtime.
ReplyCopy URLFebruary 25, 2022 at 3:08 am #1204816684I hate this because nothing ever seems obvious to me, but I’m slightly sure (and I hope I’m wrong) that Yellowjackets will be an afterthought at the Emmys and the only shot it has is a single nom in writing. I wish I was that confident in the show getting Series and Lynskey as most people are.

Sandra Oh for The Chair
Annie Murphy for Russian Doll
Julia Garner for Inventing Anna
Elisabeth Moss for Shining Girls
Evan Peters for Monster
Ewan McGregor for Obi-Wan Kenobi
William Jackson Harper for Love Life
Andre Braugher for the final season of Brooklyn Nine Nine
Anyone coming back from Game of Thrones
