Glad that it won 3 Emmys! Nathan Lane winning Guest Actor after so many years is so deserved. Sound Mixing as well, I would have been so mad if it hadn’t win. Production Design was a nice surprise! I’m sad that the beautiful main title design and theme music didn’t win. Is it possible for both to get nominated again?

I really enjoyed the season, Jayne was an absolute standout, as was Selena (I hope she’s actually nominated for this season). I loved the reveal, the twist was super good and I absolutely did not predict it.

Cara did not work for me at all, I felt like she didn’t really have a purpose aside briefly dating Selena’s character and helping her with some introspective character stuff. Wish she had more characterization overall.

Also, super happy with Nathan Lane’s win for S1! Very deserved.

I don’t think so since it used the same title design and theme for the second season. But it is eligible to nominated in Music for Series again and maybe Music and Lyrics. I don’t know if “Angel in Flip Flops” is a new song though.

Oh that is a bummer, the theme is so catchy and good. I thought maybe since the title design has easter eggs every episode that could be a loophole lol.
I think Angel in Flip Flops is a new song yes, so it wouldn’t have any problem getting submitted. I don’t know if it could get a nomination though, maybe a namecheck one because of Steve Martin. And yes, I guess Music Composition could avenge it, I just don’t like how they just nominate the score for one episode only and not the entire season. I also think the score of S1 was more memorable than S2, even though all the most of the pieces are the same from the first season and others have elements of the main melody from the main theme.
But I am happy for the show! I don’t like being a debby downer lol

The show hasn’t left Nielsen’s Top 10 streaming chart since S2 premiered. This week it is the only non-Netflix show in the top 10 along A League of their Own from Prime Video. Super impressive!

Very fun season, I enjoyed it a lot. Something about watching it is just comforting, maybe it’s because I enjoy that building so much.

Well, 3 Emmys total so far for the show! Not bad!
I am, however, a bit worried about S2’s chances for next Emmys next year. It will be a year old by then and probably forgotten so it will probably have a poor showing I believe. I don’t know what they could do.
The winter awards however will probably go just fine for S2 though

That’s what I’m worrying about too. The Martin’s will be locked, as well as the show, but if they want Selena in for the Emmy, then her campaign will have to go hard. I could definitely see her getting in for the Globes though.

Yes, I hope she gets the Golden Globe nomination. I think Critics Choice is safe too. SAG i am almost sure she won’t get it. The campaigning they’ll have to do for next year is gonna be interesting lol

Oh definitely. If we’re going off the current odds then the GG’s are currently between Jean, Quinta, and Selena. Her documentary will put her in favour with the HFPA since it’s premiering at AFI Fest. They’ll have to campaign heavily for ‘Flipping the Pieces”; if she gets the Golden Globe and CCA noms then it’ll definitely help her with the Emmys.

Oh really? I knew that the doc would be helpful somehow for campaigning for the winter awards but didn’t know how! Is the HFPA tied to the AFI Fest?

I’d assume that since it’s a reputable festival, that is accredited by the Academy, that HFPA members would attend; since it’s opening the festival on the 2nd November and premieres on Apple TV+ on the 4th November, I would assume that the HFPA would be more inclined to vote for her.

Ah right! Hope they do, I was a bit shocked last year when they did not nominate her, as I thought it would be among the easier nominations to get for her lol

Yeah, it was very strange. I’m just confused as to whether Einbinder would be supporting or lead? She’s supporting everywhere else and is in supporting for the prediction centre, but last year she was nominated for lead. I think that since submissions will be happening again that she’d be submitted for supporting?
