I am now catching up with House of Cards which has been a lot of fun, but I just can not excuse some of the writing decisions. The highest rated episode of the show on IMDb (Chapter 14) altho the episode itself is good written, its aftermath in the next episodes are very poorly handled and written.
BRIEF SPOILERS FROM HOUSE OF CARDS SEASON II
How do the police officers get so confident Zoe killed herself?! They had the camera footage showing her runing towards a mysterious man and then she suddenly “jumps” in front of a train. It was obvious the mysterious man pushed her to the train!!!
END OF THE BRIEF SPOILERS FROM HOUSE OF CARDS SEASON II
Anyways, getting back to the main point of this thread, let’s recommend dramatic shows with PERFECT or close to perfection writing.
Here are my choices: The Americans, Desperate Housewives, Lost, Homeland, The Good Wife, Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.
PS.: The Americans, The Good Wife, Breaking Bad and BCS are good written beggining to end IMO.
ReplyIt's about the chaotic editing in Moulin Rouge!
June 9, 2021 at 11:51 am #1204293326The Leftovers, Six Feet Under & The Good Fight would be my recommendations.

10. LostJune 9, 2021 at 2:46 pm #1204293582Mad Men is miles ahead of any other drama when it comes to writing for me. But honorable mentions would go to Friday Night Lights (except S2), The Sopranos, The Americans and swaths of The West Wing.

Not sure I would say miles ahead when a female character has been unaware she was pregnant for nine months… That is one of the most silliest plotlines I’ve ever seen.
