Me too. I just finished Season 1 and I kept hoping it would click for me but it never did. Rose Byrne elevates her role so much but every single character is pretty awful (including Byrne’s character, she just covers it well and makes it more nuanced with her performance). Totally agree about the soundtrack though, that was great.

The show grew over the episodes but it was still very much all over the place, too many storylines about characters idc about, the husband and his friend are unbearable.

Rose Byrne on the other hand keeps you hooked and nailed everything about Sheila, which is the most complex and interesting character of the show and her grow was very beautiful to see.

I did not understand that ending, WTF, but who cares, bring it on S2 and get rid of 80% of the characters.

FYC:
The HBO darlings everywhere (The Last of Us, Succession, The White Lotus, Perry Mason, Somebody Somewhere, White House Plumbers, Love & Death);
The Apple gang (Bad Sisters, Slow Horses, Shrinking, Ted Lasso, Black Bird);

As someone who really disliked the majority of S1 I really love where this show ended up between the finale & S1, I don’t recall a streaming show ever having this much of an improvement between seasons.

Byrne remains phenomenal and one of our most underrated working thespians.

Yes. When Sheila and Greta went to visit Bartlett’s character in his studio she was the woman standing with him.
