I’m probably one of the exceptions here, the show hasn’t picked up on me.. I find the storyline to be very confusing and at some times not very well developed. The only things that are keeping me watching this show are Rose Byrne and the soundtrack actually

    Same here!

Me too. I just finished Season 1 and I kept hoping it would click for me but it never did. Rose Byrne elevates her role so much but every single character is pretty awful (including Byrne’s character, she just covers it well and makes it more nuanced with her performance). Totally agree about the soundtrack though, that was great.

Let’s hope that they get rid of husband. Bc I ended up enjoying rest of characters . Show has issues but Rose Byrne keeps you watching.

The show grew over the episodes but it was still very much all over the place, too many storylines about characters idc about, the husband and his friend are unbearable.

Rose Byrne on the other hand keeps you hooked and nailed everything about Sheila, which is the most complex and interesting character of the show and her grow was very beautiful to see.

I did not understand that ending, WTF, but who cares, bring it on S2 and get rid of 80% of the characters.

I ended up quite enjoying the show with each passing week (I felt there were some birthing issues during the first few episodes) but I honestly would not have continued had Byrne not delivered such a dynamic performance. Kind of excited to see where Sheila’s arc goes next!

Dear god please let this be another Parks & Rec glow up situation.

The show only got better and better as it progressed (largely thanks to its acceleration during the latter half of its season of its protagonist’s arc) so this is quite possible.

    Oscars FYC:
"THE POWER OF THE DOG" – IN ALL CATEGORIES
"SPENCER" – In all categories especially Director (Pablo Larrain) and Actress (Kristen Stewart)
"SHIVA BABY" – in all categories especially Picture, Adapted Screenplay, Score
"TOGETHER" – Actress (Sharon Horgan), Actor (James McAvoy), Original Screenplay
    "FLEE" – IN ALL CATEGORIES
"LAST NIGHT IN SOHO" – Director (Edgar Wright), S. Actress (Anya Taylor-Joy/Diana Rigg), Cinematography, Costume Design and Production Design
