Did this a few weeks ago but now that we know I May Destroy You is going Limited and we know who has won the Emmy I though I’d ask it again.
I think Olivia Colman but we could be in for a surprise winner at SAG this year. I don’t see the HFPA not awarding Olivia this year (who has gone 3-3) when she’s probably getting double nominated for The Crown and The Father.
Included Paulson, Maslany and Smollett because why not?

September 21, 2020 at 4:12 pm #1203726451I highly doubt Olivia wins again at GG for The Crown. I’m going with Laura Linney. I don’t see Paulson winning with Ratched being completely panned and I still don’t buy Lovecraft Country at the GG. Tatiana could get nominated but I don’t see her winning. I actually wouldn’t be surprised if Jodie won but I still think Laura is stronger.

If Julia’s nominated at SAG, they’ll probably split, and I am not even sure she gets in at the Globes. Then there’s CC, and they’re unpredictable as all hell anyway. It really all depends on what Olivia does in S4.

How comes? If anyone can do it it’s her (she is THE HFPA darling after all)

Mixed reviewed. The reviews aren’t great but to me completely panned is like Cats territory. But yeah I agree she’s unlikely to win.

Yeah I just included it in there for the sake of it. Don’t think it will be a big awards player outside Vance anyway.

She is but not even Claire Foy managed to win two GG for this role and her performance was much more loved. I think they might pass on her this season and go with Gillian (or Josh) instead.

This is true but let’s not forget how (just to clarify I’m rooting for Linney at the Globes) Olivia will be going into this season with the biggest buzz of any contender due to her roles in The Crown and The Father. I mean I think if First Man and The Crown season 2 came out in the same Globe eligibility window Claire Foy probably would have won over Sandra Oh.

September 21, 2020 at 5:50 pm #1203726649Laura I think still has a chance to sweep as the SAGs and CC absolutely love her. The one I’m the most unsure of is the Globes, which will probably go to Colman again.

ReplyCopy URLSeptember 22, 2020 at 12:29 am #1203727056Laura Linney is not winning anything. Globes don’t like Ozark much and she won’t win against Julia at SAG if the latter is nominated.
If Paulson wins GG, it might carry her to win SAG aswell (especially considering the other nominees might be 2 pairs). But I voted for no sweeps.

I fell off my chair.
Wait do you actually think they’ll submit her as Lead?
