I’m creating this thread because I’d like to know y’all opinions on the 2005 Emmy race for Outstanding Drama Series. Please, vote on the poll for the show that you think should’ve won.

I actually only have seen 2 nominees here:

Lost: A great, revolutionary first season. The pilot itself should’ve been more than enough to warrant this well deserved win. Lost has probably the best use of flashback in the history of visual media. It’s just all so clever and you can see that the writers wanted to tell a true compelling story all the way through.

Six Feet Under: The show was never a favorite of mine, I ain’t gonna lie, but season 4 was such a misstep overall — by far the show’s worst. It was heavily soapy with some storylines I couldn’t care less. It was depressing AF, but I, to be honest, was already used to depressing stuff on SFU after the final instalments of the previous season. I don’t wanna sound much like a hater, so I’ll say something: “That’s My Dog” was extraordinary and featured a bravura performance by Michael C. Hall.

It's about the chaotic editing in Moulin Rouge!

Lost is the only correct option.

FYC: Better Call Saul and The Good Fight in all categories including Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.

Season 6 was simply the worst season of The West Wing

Those first two post-Sorkin seasons were just a nose dive.

I’m still lowkey amassed it managed to turn itself around so effortlessly in S7.

Lost is always a lot of fun, but even at its best it could never match what Deadwood was doing…

I’ll echo others who said they have soft spots for Six Feet Under; not the best in this lineup but solidly in the middle of the pack, given 24 and The West Wing are always capital “B” Bad.

Expected but disappointed to see Deadwood lose when it’s so far ahead of the competition here in quality.

Lost has always been overrated. It wasn’t even in the top 5 dramas of the year, let alone be the best. As for Six Feet Under, not their best season obviously but S4 was still extremely solid. The other two are just 💀

The Wire, The Shield, Veronica Mars were far more deserving than whatever this lineup ended up being outside of Deadwood.

Six Feet Under Season 4 was so soapy, but DAMN. I just finished it two weeks ago, and Michael C. Hall’s performance is stuck with me. The fact that HE wasn’t even nominated that season baffles me. But “That’s My Dog” could net that season its nomination on its own.

Lost did deserve the win, though. No one can change my mind.

    there’s no match…Lost!

The Shield and The Wire should have been nodded over weakest sasons of Six Feet Under and The West Wing (both very whorthy in other years)
