    This stat is shocking!

It’s pretty terrible when you look at the records since 2000 – prior to Thandie, the last person in was Edie Falco in 2007 and there’s 15-20 others who’ve had Emmy nominations or gotten in somewhere else in winter since (or both) and maybe only one or two had small enough supporting roles getting in to a field of five would be unlikely.

It is mind-blowing but on a lighter note,it seems SAG wants to compensate for giving mutiple Limited Actress and Comedy Actress slots to HBO shows.
I just went through the list and found out that Zendaya and Edie Falco are the only HBO Lead Drama Actress winners ever while Drea De Matteo,Diane Wiest and Thandie Newton are the only Supporting Drama Actress winners from HBO. This is in sharp contrast to Comedy and Limited Actress races where HBO Dominates.

Yep, and you often need to be win competitive to get in at SAG. As I said at this stage I’m still all in on Snook, but I think given that stat I’d be incline to have Smith-Cameron lower on my list (though I love her and if I were hope-dicting I’d have her like third).

Tbf after Sopranos they had what? The Newsroom? Boardwalk Empire? GoT and Westworld were the only two dramas with consistent actresses that i can think about now. I guess Jurnee Smollett could’ve happen but with The Crown and Ozark being way more popular she just felt old news.

    <cries in Carrie Coon>

Big Little Lies 2, The Deuce, Big Love, The Leftovers, etc

But GoT was a huge portion of that run.

No one expected those shows (sans BLL) to make into anywhere, imagine SAG.

True. Interesting stat though…probably as I think Wolfali said a good indicator of confidence esp. if Smith-Cameron gets in.

    Updated FYC site for Netflix

Was The Baby-Sitters Club SAG eligible last year for S1? Curious because Netflix have it listed here despite having submitted it for the Daytime Emmys.

    Oscars FYC:

    "CODA" – in all categories

"Everybody's Talking About Jamie" – Sup. Actor (Richard E. Grant), Sup. Actress (Sarah Lancashire) and Original Song (“This Was Me”)

"King Richard" – Original Song (“Be Alive”)

"Summer of Soul" – Picture, Film Editing and Documentary Feature

“The Green Knight” – in all categories

I don’t think so but they really do meet the genuine description of an ensemble and they are very well regarded (Critics love this show I’ve probably heard four critics mention it on podcasts in the last fortnight alongside adult shows, plus Lucia Aniello’s involvement helps)

If they moved to Primetime they’d probably be competitive for Contemporary Costumes.

Also as an aside on comedy – Netflix do need to work out a way to get one of their younger skewing shows in because it tends to be some of their best content. Perhaps there’s some room with network/family comedies slowly falling away.

If TMS S2 continues like this,Billy Crudup may very well win SAG. He’s phenomenal and being a previous nominee is beneficial. He most likely won’t suffer much due to internal competition (like who prefers Carrell over Crudup? I haven’t met anyone.)

Billy Crudup realizing that his competition at SAG and the Emmys will just be Succession vote splits
