Quite possible but Peters had a more wide open field at the Emmys which isn’t the case with Bartlett – a veteran (which as we know is something SAG disproportionately favours) – already seeming like a strong opponent from a show that will probably be a stronger contender for some of these series awards at the winter awards and guilds than Mare of Easttown.
I agree. Also we can add the fact that Peters doesn’t have the same sway and status in the SAG-AFTRA as he has in the Television Academy.October 12, 2021 at 7:55 pm #1204516505
Does Squid Game being submitted in SAG Ensemble (but no individual actors) suggest they’ll concentrate on a drama nom rather than individual actors going forward?
(given many will not return if it goes S2, there’s probably some logic in that)October 12, 2021 at 8:40 pm #1204516568
Could it go limited/anthology at the Emmys in that case (haven’t seen it)?
No, I don’t think it would quite qualify there either. It’s not everyone, but it’s not a spoiler given the nature of the program (which most people should have an inkling of) to say not everyone is making it to S2, if it happens.
Most first season drama nominees tend to be actors at least continuing to S2
I have some thoughts on Netflix submissions but more appropriate for the Emmys thread (just not able to post now).October 13, 2021 at 11:19 am #1204517406
Netflix is asking for a few additions today in the SAG TV predictions center:
Cowboy Bebop (drama, John Cho, Danielle Pineda)
Lupin (drama, Omar Sy)
Grace and Frankie (comedy, Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin)
Maid (limited, Anika Noni Rose)
Colin in Black and White (limited, Jaden Michael)October 13, 2021 at 11:28 am #1204517429
Very tempted to predict Omar Sy now. Think he can happen here. The category is empty enough.October 13, 2021 at 12:06 pm #1204517493
Jaden Michael is so happening
It's all about Ethan Hawke!October 13, 2021 at 12:11 pm #1204517495
This threw me off tho
Are they creating a limited ensemble or is just to reassure the individual people are competing in limited?
Also, Lupin came and went but i have no problem putting Omar Sy over Steve Carell.

I know most here say Impeachment is too buzzless, but Beanie is more pushed in the media than most contenders. There’s like an article about her in publications every week. That on top of playing one of the baitiest character in the race, I don’t think she’s out of the running for a nom at all

Beanie Feldstein, playing Monica Lewinsky in “Impeachment: American Crime Story,” immerses herself in the role in Tuesday's episode as she recreates Lewinsky's detainment by the FBI. "I don’t know if I’ll ever get over it," she told us about the scene. https://t.co/YrRSnD6sTQ

Beanie Feldstein has a magical knack of wishing things into existence.
She was taking part in an event in 2018 when she was asked which real-life person she dreamt of playing. Monica Lewinsky, she blurted unthinkinglyhttps://t.co/Xo35bPIxfz

Isn’t Lupin like a gigantic commercial hit?October 13, 2021 at 1:48 pm #1204517598
Isn’t Lupin like a gigantic commercial hit?
Yes, I don’t get what he meant by “came and went” lol. Omar Sy got a TCA nom and he will probably get a Critics Choice nom.
With the empty field, I think he is more likely than MCH, although the wise thing to do is to predict Steve Carrell (ugh)October 13, 2021 at 2:14 pm #1204517624
It was a big hit but after that..
Just look at IMDb most popular tv shows and it’s not even on the top 100 behind stuff like Bridgerton, Stranger Things, The Crown, SVU, Hill House, The Boys, YOU and a bunch of other things older than the show.
So yeah, it came and went, if Omar Sy has particular buzz for himself is another story, but the show itself is another Sweet Tooth.

Omar Sy can definitely happen. The show was a gigantic hit, the actor field is quite wide open and SAG loves Netflix.
Likewise (perhaps this is due to its TCA nomination) I have a feeling that Lupin is quite widely watched amongst the industry. I think it might turn up at BAFTA in international series and that had it been submitted and campaigned by Netflix that Sy might have happened.
"The Good Fight" and "The Other Two" in all categories.October 13, 2021 at 4:28 pm #1204517780
This probably means Netflix will be dropping the remaining 12 episodes of Grace and Frankie either before or during voting.
Not necessarily. The SAG rules only require four episodes to be considered eligible in Comedy Series due to COVID:
Comedy Series: a thirty (30) minute scripted program (with a minimum twenty-one (21) minutes of actual programming content) with an ongoing theme and storyline in a minimum of four (4) continuous episodes* and marketed as a comedy series.
