    Watch they nominate Erivo.

If this was the Globes, I’d bet on that it, just for the headlines of “Two Arethas nominated at same ceremony”.

    Oscars FYC:

"Lamb" – International Feature and all categories

"Summer of Soul" – Picture, Film Editing and Documentary Feature

“The Green Knight” – in all categories

It’s so fucked up that Erivo did a way better job than JHud when Aretha herself chose JHud and her family said no to Genius 💀

    It's all about Ethan Hawke!

This is why I think the more popular a show is the better. These are the same people who nominated Bill Camp last year.

    FYC:

"The Good Fight" and "The Other Two" in all categories.

That’s why I believe JHud should not be nominated just for a baity biopic over many other deserving performances this year. JHud had great singing scenes (obviously) but in other times, her performance and dialogue delivery felt very flat.

That would be such an undeserving nomination (especially in a competitive field like this) but ngl I kind of want to see it just for the lols.

Despite my personal opinion of the show, I think Paulson is still very much in the mix. It’s the type of performance SAG loves and she’s Sarah Paulson. By no means a lock or likely, but there’s no way she’s not near the Top 5.

Have a great day if you see this!

The thing is that half of the people prefer Feldstein (whose work in the second half is stunning) and half prefer Paulson (sensational in the first half). This will lead to a near uniform vote split and I don’t think this season of ACS is strong enough to survive that and get them in.

    she’s Sarah Paulson.

The only time she’s ever been nominated was when she gave one of the most undeniable performances in recent television history and won her Emmy. She’s by no means a name-check.

If she happens her and Impeachment are probably bigger Emmy contenders than we’re expecting them to be.

I feel the same more generally about Nine Perfect Strangers but I think McCarthy might get in instead. She’s much better than Kidman in it in my opinion and the reviews reflect that.

Not sure they meant that she’s a name check. More that she is a recognisable name that everybody knows so may be able to stand out alongside her big performance and notable show. Not really a theory I subscribe to but think that’s what they meant.

I know you’re mostly joking but of the top dozen on combined votes if we went by TikTok views:

    ·        Kate Winslet

    ·        Jennifer Coolidge

    ·        Sarah Paulson

    ·        Nicole Kidman

    ·        Melissa McCarthy

(I can see a world where this happens)

    ·        Evan Peters

    ·        Paul Rudd

    ·        Ewan McGregor

    ·        Oscar Isaac

    ·        Nick Robinson

    (Keaton an easy 6th given he’s 70)
