If Qualley is able to defeat Winslet anywhere, she’ll win the Emmy.October 24, 2021 at 5:58 pm #1204537089
I still think McGregor could easily win SAG like Ruffalo did he’s a big enough name and the Emmy winner.
If he gets in I definitely can see it. This is a wide open field, he’s playing a real life figure and I’m sure people know who he is because… Star Wars.
The question is whether he will get nominated.

I think Mark Ruffalo made quite an impact with the industry and with critics for his performance (he made TCA, won against Mescal and Jackman who were the talk of the town, and Irons who was in the series winner), i don’t feel like Ewan did the same thing, his field was just a wasteland.
Yeah, not to mention that Ruffalo is way more respected as an actor. He’s a three time Oscar nominee.
Ewan McGregor will get nominated since the category is barren, but I think he will lose to Evan Peters or Murray Bartlett, if the latter gets nominated. There’s definitely a path for him to win, though.October 24, 2021 at 6:41 pm #1204537149
Jennifer Coolidge will win the SAG no question about thatOctober 24, 2021 at 7:50 pm #1204537226
When she loses or not even get nominatedOctober 24, 2021 at 8:29 pm #1204537269
I’m not hopeful about Michael Keaton (although I am looking forward to seeing his performance). I’ve lowkey seen no one talking about Dopesick outside of this site.
I do think all evidence suggests to it being a bt underwatched but it does have good reviews and audience scores and sometimes those sorts of things build.
I do question if it’s a particularly good fit for Hulu.October 24, 2021 at 8:57 pm #1204537285
Yeahh noooo, since the show premiered all the talk was on Coolidge and pretty much no other had the same attention, even Bartlett. If she misses yes, TWL is not that strong, if he misses it’s expected to me.
Agreed, Bartlett missing is expected, it would be a bonus but he is the kind of low-profile standout from a show a few months back that could miss. He is good though.October 25, 2021 at 2:48 am #1204537475
Nick Robinson could happen if Maid is really strongOctober 25, 2021 at 3:02 am #1204537486
Nick Robinson could happen if Maid is really strong
Even though I have not started Maid yet, this would make me so, so, so happy. He has matured so much as an actor and has really chosen interesting roles recently. He was nom-worthy for a teacher and I am sure crushes it on Maid.October 25, 2021 at 4:01 am #1204537512This post was found to be inappropriate by the moderators and has been removed.October 25, 2021 at 4:20 am #1204537519
I rewatched Mare Of Easttown and The Undoing in the last 4 days. The difference couldn’t be more stark. While I won’t say The Undoing is bad, but it is very unrealistic which I was more conscious of in this re-watch since I’ve watched Mare also. The finales are also widely different in how they stick their landing. The best parts were Zabel’s Bar Scene and looking at Kidman’s coats. I’m still amazed as how many emotions Peters was able to convey while being drunk. 😉October 25, 2021 at 4:57 am #1204537576
I know Kate is quite popular here but this one is Margaret Qualley’s to lose. Recency bias helped Kate at Emmys and now it’s gonna help Margaret at winter awards.
What helped Kate was an arguably undeniable performance and massive support for Mare of Easttown from actors. Recency bias surely factored in as well, but let’s not forget that she beat the star of the series winner who swept all the winter awards. She’s strong! And, to be honest, at SAG, you want your show to not have aired recently since SAG voters are notoriously behind the curve. Qualley will surely get in and might have a chance at winning, but this is definitely not hers to lose. I genuinely believe people underestimate how popular Mare is among actors (just look at Edie Falco’s recent statement about Kate’s performance!). And I also believe it’ll be a show AFTRA will eat up.October 25, 2021 at 5:01 am #1204537589

Absolutely True. The fact that Mare won 3 Acting Awards in the most competitive year for Limited Races highlights it well. 3 !Not now
