IMDB Trivia: Kate Winslet created so much trauma for Mare that on set, she couldn’t be in the same room as Cody Kostro, who portrayed her late son Kevin. In interviews, Winslet would sometimes start crying when discussing the dynamic between Mare and Kevin and his mental health issues. Winslet spent a lot of time with grief therapists, and parents that have lost their children. Her own children had to reassure her throughout filming that it wasn’t real.

Can we get The Other Two in the predictions centre please? It’s unlikely to happen but it has a fair share of buzz and HBO Max are campaigning for it quite a lot which is not something a lot of the shows in the predictions centre can say for themselves.

"The Good Fight" and "The Other Two" in all categories.

The Best TV Shows of 2021 — A Top 10 List, Alternate Picks, and More

With all due respect to the fans, but I don’t get this The Underground Railroad obsession from critics. Literally.

I thought the first three episodes were a masterpiece, but then the show loses steam almost completely between boring and empty episodes focused on Joel Edgerton’s character. I wanted to see more of Nora and we got very few. It’s mostly visuals and no substance. Not to mention that it was too dark (I had to turn up the bright on my TV) and sometimes I couldn’t hear the dialogue.

Any Best of 2021 list without Maid and Mare of Easttown (not even in the alternative 10?) shouldn’t be taken seriously. And they should wait for the third season of Succession to end before adding it to the list.

I think my general vibe would be (following a lot of critics etc) that the general consensus is it is hard to get through (and many didn’t) but they perceive it as important work.

I don’t necessarily disagree in theory, in practice, complex subject matter that people can’t get through is still unseen art. This is why Michaela Coel and I May Destroy You were so vital.
