Dead to Me is such a question mark to me, i think I’ll wait and see if it hits. If it does hit then I see no reason why it’s two leads shouldn’t make it in + the show getting an Ensemble nod. As of right now I only have Applegate.

In general, I feel confident on Applegate because she’s gotten in everywhere before, and that rarely reverses entirely.

    That said, other concerns

-It’s not very comedic, which is also the case with a lot of series this year – The Bear + Barry + Dead to Me feels like it would be overkill for a voting body to go for, for instance.

-It is entirely possible given the fact it was delayed multiple times that the season isn’t their strongest

-Russian Doll did not do well with a similar break.

-Their marketing suggests Wednesday and Blockbuster are bigger priorities. Do I think these are obvious SAG contenders? No, but there’s a good chance that Netflix submit 4-6 additional actress contenders between the two of them, AND that they all release within 4-5 weeks.

That may have the effect of dissipated buzz that either goes elsewhere or cancels itself out.

That’s what I thought. I know my thoughts don’t really mean anything and although I really enjoyed Russian Doll S1, the 2 and a 1/2 break diminished any excitement I had for it and I just didn’t watch it. I also enjoyed the first two seasons of Dead To Me, but again the break in between S2 and S3 could potentially hinder its chances.

    Mabel Mora enthusiast.

It’s probably more of a random occurrence than anything else but with such a strong field it will be interesting if the trend of shows getting drama ensemble nods without any individual acting nominations continues this year.

    2022: Yellowstone season 4
    2021: Lovecraft Country season 1
2020: Big Little Lies season 2
    2019: The Americans season 6

FYC: Better Call Saul and The Good Fight in all categories including Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.

Currently have that as The Handmaid’s Tale but could also see it being House of the Dragon if Smith misses

Drama Ensemble is actually pretty hard to predict 🤔, could see a case for the whole TOP 8 (and maybe 10). The Crown and Ozark are probably locked considering how much this voting body loves those shows. Stranger Things and The Handmaid’s Tale have never missed and the former got even bigger this year. SAG started giving Better Call Saul more room last year. House of the Dragon and Lord of the Rings are hits and fit the populist bill (the former is the way better show of the two) and I would’ve been way more confident in Severance had it done better at the Emmys.

I can see it being House of The Dragon too. I don’t know if Smith is enough of a standout to be singled out. Outside of Dinklage SAG never knew what to do with GoT and I can that happening here too.

RIP everyone’s chances . But seriously now, I wouldn’t be shocked if this pulls a Big Little Lies s2 in terms of noms. I could easily see this only getting an ensemble nomination.

I just feel like The Crown and Ozark duos are starting ahead due to the shows history with SAG and then you have Zendaya (2x Emmy winner and HBO priority) and Moss, who has never missed.

Comedy would be a better placement for it. Competition is far more open and wouldn’t be fraud from a genre pov.
