Is it that weak a field though? Landscapers, The Shrink Next Door and Dopesick could all be contenders if they’re acclaimed.

Not weak, but I personally don’t believe in The Shrink Next Door or Dopesick, which is certainly influencing my predictions.

Hard to explain. The Shrink Next Door doesn’t look awards friendly, and I think Dopesick will be… Boring and conventional ?

Unbelievable looked boring and conventional (although it wasn’t) from its trailer and promo stills and it ended up being a contender but I get what you mean about Dopesick. Even if it isn’t so conventional, it looks like something that could easily be forgotten if it’s not a big hit.

I’m confident in the quality of both though with their strong pedigrees.

Is Winslet really that strong? I don’t see her being able to defeat Chastain or either of the Impeachment ladies. I feel she’s 4th at best.

Considering that she defeated the one who Swept the Winter Awards and whose series won,yes she really is THAT strong.
She’s much stronger than Michelle Williams in Fosse/Verden who swept.

Sorry, but I don’t think Impeachment will be as strong as the previous ACS seasons. It will probably be a filler spot at the winter awards and it will get derailed by all the 2022 shows, which have an advantage like we learned from this season. It’s also bad for Impeachment that The First Lady is coming in 2022 and it will probably have a more traditional and positive approach towards politicians and their wives, which will certainly appeal with the voters.

Both Scenes From a Marriage actors will get SAG nominations because they will be hot because of their movies by the time voting begins, but I also struggle to see this bleak and depressing show maintaining momentum. The same could happen to The White Lotus, but at least it has the edge of being critically acclaimed and of becoming a lowkey word of mouth hit.

You make it sound as if she’s undeniable. And on Sunday, she won over two imo far more interesting performances.
