It’s been a mixed bag as far as predictions from experts. Where do YOU think Severance currently stands in terms of ATL nominations?
My Predictions (In order of likelihood)
1. Drama Directing – Ben Stiller
2. Drama Writing – Dan Erickson
3. John Turturro – Drama Supporting
4. Patricia Arquette – Drama Supporting
5. Drama Series
6. Adam Scott – Drama Lead Actor
Would love to hear your thoughts!

1/2. Directing/Writing – Stiller is clearly adored by directors and this such a writerly dense show, I cannot imagine this branch passing it when they’ve been historically the most adventurous.
3. Arquette – 5 open slots, new type of role for her, on a hot streak and an alphabetically advantage.
CONFIDENT WILL HAPPEN
4. Series
5. TurturoIF THEY TAKE TO THE SHOW
6. Scott
YOU LIKE ME, YOU REALLY LIKE ME
7. Everything else.

I feel like this is a good take on where they’ll go depending on their level of investment.

June 8, 2022 at 1:06 pm #1204976251Interesting watch. I’ve been wondering how people think the Academy will react to Dan Erickson (Creator/Writer). Will this being literally his first credit hurt the show? Will people think it’s a great story and help the show? Does it not matter?

Has it even ever mattered to a show? I mean, this show is also mostly associated to industry veterans like Stiller, Arquette, Scott, Turturro.

I don’t know; that’s why I was asking. 😊

I know first time showrunners are often a big staple but I can’t recall any with zero credits. I dint think it matters though as Emmys have been keen to embrace a lot of young and relatively unknown writers before.
ReplyCopy URLJune 11, 2022 at 11:57 am #1204980230If the Academy gave tons of Emmys for Chernobyl, a show created and written by a Scary Movie writer, someone who’s filmography was far away from being worthy, then they can reward Severance. They don’t care about that.
