    (Possible finale spoilers ahead…) Sarah Snook was just on a podcast with Variety and mentioned how she has already watched the season finale and I thought a couple of her comments were interesting (~25 min): – She said she cried a little bit as she watched it and thought “oh these poor kids” – She said there was something “nostalgic” about leaving season 3 – She said she can’t wait to see where they take them and what they do to “Shiv, Tom, Kendall, Roman, and Connor” Definitely looks to be an emotional episode but I thought it was interesting she included Kendall (does he live then?) and didn’t include Logan. Always thought it was possible that Logan is actually the one to die in the season finale, especially since Jesse Armstrong only told Brian Cox about what would happen in Season 3 way before the rest of the cast

    She could be just dropping a red herring in order to avoid giving any actually spoilers but Logan dying would actually make SO much sense. We’ve already seen  his mortality discussed with Lukas asking Roman when Logan will pass away and with the way Logan has been sidelined as a lead this season his death would be quite impactful because as the viewer you’d least expect it.

    Likewise has anyone else felt like there’s been a sense of urgency in Cox’s acting’s in some of his scenes? Like the one with Linda Emond in episode three where he’s threatening the president if he doesn’t make concessions for Logan vis à vis the cruise scandal and investigation.

    FYC:

    "The Good Fight", "The Other Two" and "Station Eleven" in all categories, Sarah Lancashire ("Julia"), William Jackson Harper ("Love Life") and Luke Kirby ("The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel")

    I’m a bit behind, just saw the birthday episode. Jeremy Strong is unstoppable. I think in my books he’s gonna rank as the #1 best TV performance of 2021. He has completely left Cox in the dust.

    Matthew Macfadyen would be such a worthy winner, as is Kieran Culkin. They are both so interesting to watch. Braun doesn’t deserve a nomination this time around. Sarah Snook is also fantastic, getting and better with each episode which I didn’t think was possible after “The Disruption”.  I think Succession will pick up more acting wins this time around… Strong is in a good position to repeat.

    Really doubt either Logan or Kendall will die, Cox was the first to talk about returning to shoot S4 in July next year (he could’ve been drifting away for people not to think about a death but i don’t see it).
    Snook didn’t mention Greg either.

    FYC:

    "Succession" and "Severance" in all Drama categories;
    "Ted Lasso" and "The Great" in all Comedy categories;
    "Station Eleven" and "The White Lotus" in all Limited categories + Ethan Hawke for "Moon Knight".

    Kaley Cuoco ("The Flight Attendant"), Janelle James ("Abbott Elementary"), Mandy Moore ("This is Us"), Colin Firth ("The Staircase"), Christine Baranski ("The Good Fight"), Katja Herbers ("Evil").

    LOL maybe Greg will die. I do enjoy Braun’s performance, but that character has taken a far backseat this year.

    Alright. I finally took a plunge and binged all three seasons in 4 days. I have so many questions, but first thing first:

    is Roman supposed to read as gay? Or is it just me? His awkwardness and explicit underperformance with women.. and this season in particular those scenes with Kirk AND Skarsgard were very.. intense. Even his kinky relationship with Geri reeks of latent sexuality.

    Also, similarly Tom.. his constant sexual joke innuendos and obvious emotional attachement to Greg, his chemistry-less relationship with Shiv, his body language even reads very queer to me.. am I just too gay to function myself?

    I feel like they’ve each been played up more this season than ever before and I’m not 100% across either of them. The Roman one maybe if handled well, but definitely not the Tomlette one.

    Bill Hader and Barry in everything (2 babka)
    The Great - Elle Fanning, Nicholas Hoult and comedy writing and directing

    Severance in drama series, writing, Adam Scott for best actor, Ben Stiller for drama directing, and the whole cast in supporting.

    I’m straight so my read without that filter is that I don’t read Tom as gay, though I don’t think it’s outside the realms of possibility.

    Roman I think is quite complicated, deliberately so. I think I would probably read him as bisexual but quite separately I think there are a lot of hints of childhood sexual trauma (I actually think this is all through the show and wouldn’t be surprised if it became a storyline later on, and maybe not just with Roman).

    Look, I’m of the opinion that the New Yorker piece was really not that bad (on the other hand, the Twitter overreactions about “white male privilege” and how much his cast mates obviously “hate” him were laughable. So, typical Twitter basically.)

    But, you can’t pretend the New Yorker writer of the profile was being 100% objective. He clearly went into writing his profile already having an angle and framing he wanted to pursue (weird and annoyingly intense method actor). So, he clearly picked only parts of quotes related to Strong’s method (the tear gas and kazoo stuff) and completely ignored how complimentary Sorkin actually was about Strong and his behavior on set. Plus, Sorkin’s clarification about this definitely proves that everyone else interviewed probably said much more (maybe even positive things) than their actually included cherry-picked quotes.

    (Side note, the writer’s implication that Strong is opportunistic with these actors he probably is genuinely friends with is kinda gross, especially since he actually came from a working-class background and succeeded and isn’t someone who randomly got by through nepotism like the other 95% of Hollywood)

    Regardless, this is some god-tier publicist work leading up to the finale and that’s really all I care about. Perfect timing to get people talking about it and tuning in this weekend

    Someone said that the way you read that profile is reflective of the way you personally see the world and I think that’s probably accurate.

    Whilst I agree that the comment on opportunistic behaviour isn’t called for, I know I would have seen this as as aspiring level of laser focus when I was 22 and Type A whereas it seems kind of dangerously myopic now I’m much closer to Strong’s age, and, as per Cox I understand that living that level of intensity is unhealthy for years and years.

    How this profile happened in terms of such tight-control PR is entirely another story.

    This is honestly beyond f’n stupid now. And people wonder why there’s no more good celebrity profiles, when even the most mild shit turns into this.

    You can feel free to not comment on this story if it’s “beyond stupid”. It’s amusing that anonymous people online (with no insight or experience on an actor’s process) are allowed to comment and make jokes about Jeremy for 3 straight days but as soon as a fellow actor speaks up in his favor, it’s become “stupid”. It’s a free country, his friends are allowed to comment on this story just as much as anyone on Twitter.
