I cannot wait! Chastian and Isaac look incredible! I really need to find a way to watch the original Scenes From a Marriage miniseries before the HBO one comes out lol.

I think Kidman wanted to do a couple of mainstream TV shows that could potentially be rating hits before tackling more serious and prestige fare like Things I know to be true and Hope.

    “Scenes from a Marriage” trailer

Christ, I absolutely loathe the song choice. But other than that, this trailer is perfection. Beautiful cinematography and I’m so excited to see Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain do what they do best. Also excited to see Nicole Beharie! She’s so so underrated and if her part is something good, I’d love to see her pop up at the next Emmys. But perhaps I’m getting ahead of myself lol.

    Cannot wait!

The article says it will come out later this year on Sky but HBO seem to already have a very packed release schedule so I assume it will come out around November/December over here (which would make it eligible for the BAFTAs) and then January/February on HBO.

Song choice in the trailer aside, Scenes from a Marriage looks perfect. You can just tell that we’re about to get two of the most cherished performances of this particular TV season from Jessica and Oscar. HBO does not miss.

If the White Lotus aired this season, I would trade every single one of the supporting actress nominees in besides Nicholson for these five. And it would be a fantastic category

I absolutely agree with this. I think Rothwell and Daddario took me by surprise in the end. Especially the latter. I only knew her from the Percy Jackson films growing up so I honestly had no idea she was capable of delivering a performance like this! I guess what I liked about them both the most is just how grounded in reality their performances were? Their characters didn’t start off as the ones as the viewer you’d have your eye on the most at the start of the show but by the end of the show they were the characters one arguably connected with the most (I will refrain from saying too much as I don’t want to spoil things for people who haven’t seen the show). That was thanks to both the actors’ well worn characterisations and White’s strong development of his characters over six episodes.

We really need to watch out whenever HBO puts out a limited series in the summer. The Night OfSharp ObjectsI May Destroy YouThe White Lotus
