Amanda Seyfried coming for that full sweep!

Also rooting for Sienna Miller and Vera Farmiga. Hopefully Michelle Pfeiffer goes supporting. I think she can win there (if nominated) as long as the show is good and she doesn’t have any internal competition.

Things finally look competitive on the male side too which is good.

Black MirrorA Very English ScandalNormal People and potentially this year with either Small Axe or It’s a Sin, it seems like there is an annual British writing contender that isn’t a top contender in limited series (obviously I May Destroy You is a top writing contender this year and happens to be British but that’s also a top series contender).

Assuming Landscapers and Anatomy of a Scandal are the big series contenders some (and when I say that, I am including myself) are predicting then I wonder which of A Very British Scandal and Conversations with Friends will be closer to being that “British writing contender” this year. The former seems like it is more likely to be a higher profile contender due to the bait of the premise and the familiarity of its two leads but Conversations with Friends is based on a novel by the Normal People writer that is more acclaimed and known than NP ever was before its adaptation. Likewise the writing team behind this adaptation of Conversations with Friends is the same as that behind Normal People. The same can’t be said of A Very British Scandal.

I’d argue Normal People was more popular and acclaimed than Conversations with Friends. Many people discovered Sally Rooney (and thus CwF) through Normal People. There’s a reason it was the first one of her works to be adapted.

Loki (Drama) Ms. Marvel (Drama?) Hawkeye (Limited?) Moon Knight (Drama?) She-Hulk (Comedy)

I highly doubt Ms Marvel will end up being a big contender if something like Never Have I Ever couldn’t. Unless you’re called Euphoria, the bias against teen shows still appears to be strong at the Emmys.

I’m very intrigued in Moon Knight and She-Hulk due to their pedigrees.

Most, if not all, marvel shows will be non factors after this year and the novelty of them doing tv goes away. Same for Star Wars shows.
