FYC: Better Call Saul, The English and The Good Fight in all categories including Emily Blunt, Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.
June 19, 2022 at 4:40 am #1204989667I mean I’d love The Other Two to punch the mainstream like Schitt’s Creek did. But otherwise I’m eager for new content that isn’t about being gay but the lead still is.
The Last Of Us is coming!
June 19, 2022 at 5:55 am #1204989692Actors really seem to love him, wonder if he can surprise in supporting for Rez Dogs this year.
June 19, 2022 at 6:58 am #1204989726Do you know @ZahnMcClarnon? You should. Long a favorite screen presence (with a wicked sense of humor), I’m so encouraged to see him getting his due. https://t.co/BhyG9gfZXJ

Could not be happier and more proud of @ZahnMcClarnon. I told him years ago, when we were doing #Longmire, that his star was rising. Shine bright, my brother! https://t.co/GEUgjEaLQm

I know it’s AMC but the season premiere just garnered 1.38 million viewers on linear (which is more than most of this half a season of Better Call Saul), the critical notices are very strong (it has an 80 on Metacritic with 19 reviews), there seems to be a strong industry pedigree behind it (George R.R.R. Martin and Robert Redford are producers on it) and it’s airing concurrent to the final season of Better Call Saul so maybe it could be one to look out for? I’m curious to see if television critics remember it on their end of year lists.
FYC: Better Call Saul, The English and The Good Fight in all categories including Emily Blunt, Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.

Yeah, I agree. I’m still on catch up of last cycle, but The only shows in the cycle at this point I think are “contenders” so far (in the very broad sense of having decent buzz, audience scores and pretty good reviews) are this and The Old Man (and Obi Wan by virtue of mass audience). I’m not sure if they’re going limited or drama though.

Season one will include six episodes and is expected to premiere on AMC in 2022

Thanks! I like Zahn as a performer a lot, and the ratings (and the fact it’s airing when they’ve got a captive audience) are a good start, I think.
June 19, 2022 at 9:39 am #1204989869If nothing else, Dark Winds feels prime for Gotham and Film Independent TV noms.

Zahn also seems really close to getting nominated somewhere I think. I wouldn’t be shocked if he turns up for Reservation Dogs, particularly with this buzzing (and it’s the cover of Emmy Magazine this month).
June 19, 2022 at 11:01 am #1204989922I’m assuming Loot reviews are coming imminently – I’m ready to start the campaign for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, MJ Rodriguez.
FYC: "What We Do in the Shadows", "Industry" and "The Last of Us" in everything, Maya Rudolph for "Loot", Sarah Sherman for "Saturday Night Live", Simona Tabasco for "The White Lotus"
June 19, 2022 at 11:13 am #1204989928Also, confirmed on the film side that Searchlight are running Good Luck To You Leo Grande in TV Movie in the US (out this weekend), so Thompson is eligible for 2023.
June 19, 2022 at 12:17 pm #1204989985Oh wow, I didn’t know Xan from Kimmy Schmidt was in Loot. Or the writer/star of Fire Island, Joel Booster. I can also see Adam Scott becoming an Emmy nominee 2 years in a row with this, when so far he’s still at zero.
June 19, 2022 at 1:14 pm #1204990031We obviously have to see what the reviews are like but has anyone else noticed there’s been a lot of press pre-hype behind Loot? I guess you could say that’s the same with every Apple show with a name as prolific as Rudolph in the lead but I don’t even think I saw this much coverage for stuff like Severance and Ted Lasso before their releases. They seem to be really out there promoting it.
