Westworld s4 is at 69 on MC, i think that’s good for them. Doubt it will get that much award talk tho.
It has never been that beloved by critics tbh. The first season had ‘just’ a 74 on Metacritic and it never even got any TCA noms . That score is very good, especially after I expected critics to be harsher this time. Should be higher by my calculations but at least the consensus is that it has rebounded in a major way, proving the haters wrong. Very excited for it now.June 24, 2022 at 2:59 pm #1204995532
Reading the reviews, Ed Harris and Newton are the MVP of the first four episodes. Almost all critics said it is a improvement from the last season with some of them saying it can be the best since the first one. But there are mixed to bad reviews too. Many of the flaws the critics appointed are elements Westworld have since season 1.June 24, 2022 at 7:22 pm #1204995656
it’s like ozark critically, but with less winning and less audience enthusiasm.

Anecdotally speaking as an aside I think The Boys is the first show of this season that I haven’t seen people around me stop talking about. And I’m not even a viewer of it or someone who is actively following the discourse around it.June 24, 2022 at 7:53 pm #1204995708
The latest episode is at 9.8 on IMDb with 9k votes..June 24, 2022 at 7:54 pm #1204995710

It’s giving Succession vibes… I’m not really sure it will be able to overcome the 1 year gap to breakthrough with a bigger haul of nomination, unless it gets things like PGA, DGA, GG and repeats its WGA nom. SAG is unlikely. I think the show is peaking in visibility this season.June 24, 2022 at 10:03 pm #1204995811
Re: Westworld, I’m glad the reviews are at least reasonable, but HBO is still more or less shading/dumping it, which is concerning for a contender that was already sliding.June 24, 2022 at 10:40 pm #1204995820
I hope The Boys do get a nice winter awards run, i hate that they dropped in June of all months tho, if they dropped a little early for this year’s Emmy they would’ve been successful as hell.
All things Succession, Severance, Ted Lasso, The Great and The White Lotus! Also, Colin Firth and Janelle James while you're at it.June 24, 2022 at 10:48 pm #1204995822

At least they are a near lock for SAG Stunts, that’s something I guess.

Man vs Bee’s pilot is 19 mins, every other episode is under between 10-12 mins.
Congratulations for the upcoming short form wins.June 25, 2022 at 6:58 am #1204995915

Homelander isn't just "evil Superman" he's actually a very complex and interesting villain pic.twitter.com/7cs7EitE3T

I don’t remember them ever giving it to a cast

Wouldn’t surprise me if it gets a SAG Ensemble nom this time. It was still peaking during winter awards last time. Not now
