OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING VISUAL EFFECTS IN A PHOTOREAL EPISODE
9-1-1 Lone Star (“Hold the Line”)
Does this have a chance of winning? The entire episode is one big VFX showcase (wildfires, crumbling terra, active lava, vehicle stuntwork), which is all the more impressive considering it’s on a broadcast budget.

I have no idea which one will win this.
Dopesick is the only one with no chance in my opinion. WandaVision’s chance is small because at the end of the day Watchmen didn’t win, but writers are very passionate about it.
I think recency could help Station Eleven to win and the fact that more people will now watch the show.
Or they could just default to Barry Jenkins.

I’m finding the same difficulty telling with the adapted category at WGA. At the moment I’m going with WandaVision because it ultimately has the most appeal and has you mentioned it seems to have a lot of passion amongst writers and critics.
Maid in these circumstances really feels like it should be a slam dunk like most of us are predicting The White Lotus to be in original there but its under-performance on end of year critics lists alongside the fact that the show’s writing isn’t at the crux of its acclaim makes me pause.
