It’s going in limited series. There was an news blurb that the Emmys were allowing it to proceed in limited even thought it’s returning with a second series.

    Edit: Here it is: https://variety.com/2022/tv/news/white-lotus-emmys-limited-series-2022-1235207042/amp/

    Ridiculous. Thanks.

    In 2022?

TV is their only field that doesn’t use the calendar year, this current eligibility period is September 1, 2020 to August 31, 2021.

This is great but it’s………also a cover of a Peaches song?

They allow covers to compete in both Film and TV Song. Better Call Saul’s rendition of “Something Stupid” in S5 won in 2019. They’ve previously nominated Queen Latifah’s “Long Old Road” from Bessie and AURORA’s “Life on Mars?” From Girls S5. The Sex Education cover also beat the rendition of Demi Lovato’s “Anyone” performed by Skylar Astin in Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist S2.

Overall quite unsurprising winners although Call My Agent winning over Pen15 and The Kominsky Method is interesting even if it was in the absence of Ted Lasso, Hacks and The Flight Attendant. I wonder now with their realisation post Squid Game that shows not in the English language have a shot at the Emmys and with Camille Cottin’s rapid rise if they’ll find a way to make it Emmy eligible for the next (and maybe final?) season.

    FYC:

"The Good Fight", "The Other Two" and "Station Eleven" in all categories, Sarah Lancashire ("Julia"), William Jackson Harper ("Love Life") and Luke Kirby ("The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel")
