I was hoping that the final season of “The Man in the High Castle” would finally receive the recognition it deserves. Looking at the predictions, it is pretty obvious it won’t be the case.
Yes, the show suffered from the multiple show- runner shuffle and the writers room never quite got the voice it could’ve/should’ve had, but some of the performances, world building, directing, and visuals of this show broke many molds and is still unmatched on stream TV content.
It baffles me how Rufus Sewell or Joel De la Fuente, Chelah Horsdal have never even been nominated.
Sewell’s portrayal of John Smith, an extremely complex character was flawless. I saw Joel De la Fuente in the solo play “Hold this truths” where he played more than 10 different characters. I was amazed by his versatility as actor and made me appreciate even more his craft and portrayal of Inspector Kido.
The episode and series finale “Fire from the Gods”, is by far one of the best crafted episodes I’ve ever watched on TV. Hopefully, as it has in years prior, the 2020 Creative Emmy Awards will recognize- and they win- the amazing Cinematography (Gonzalo Amat), Production Design (Drew Boughton) and Visual Effects (Barnstorm VFX).

The Wire, The Shield, The Leftovers, Justified, Community, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I would have added Pushing Daisies, but aside from not getting nominated for Series, it did win 2 major emmys in 2 years.

The Leftovers
Freddie Highmore (for Bates Motel and The Good Doctor)
Alfie Allen (he deserved more than just one nomination for Game of Thrones)
Hannibal
Peter Capaldi (Doctor Who)

Noah Emmerich though!

It deserved nominations for directing, Winona Ryder, LaTonya Richardson Jackson and Alfred Molina (although his category was stacked with great performances from People v OJ Simpson, Fargo, and Hugh Laurie in The Night Manager) and deserved to win Best Limited Series, Writing and Lead Actor for Oscar Isaac.
