I doubt that it was eligible. Did it ever even air in America? I suppose that you could say that she was snubbed for the International Emmy though.
ReplyCopy URLMay 24, 2020 at 9:20 am #1203498471It aired on BBC America. I think it might have been eligible for the 2017 awards thought not 2016. Whether the Primetime Emmy or International Emmy I don’t know.
The trailer for Thirteen is below if anyone is interested :

The Comeback is the best comedy of all time. At least Kudrow got two deserved acting nominations. She should have won for playing Valerie.
Couldn’t agree more. Michelle Gellar’s performance in season 5 I think foreshadowed another Emmy winning performance I like which is Julianna Margulies in season 5 of The Good Wife. In my opinion both should have won for every season of their shows. Caulfield should have won for season 7, Hannigan for season 6, Marsters for season 6, Stewart Head for season 5 and Boreanaz should have won for season 2. Also Julie Benz never even getting nominated for Angel is appalling.
I always knew you were the smartest person on these boards.
Jesus, how could I forget to shout out Julie Benz? She was fantastic in Angel!

Especially in season 2/3. She had nothing to do in Buffy but my my in Angel. People say Yvonne Strahovski’s scene stealing portrayal as Serena Joy shows a lot of character evolution but wait until they see Julie Benz’s performance in Angel.
With regards to the connection between Margulies and Gellar’s season 5 performances, I am pretty sure that Robert and Michelle King took inspiration from “The Body” when writing “The Last Call”. The performances, scenarios and episodes are more or less identical it’s only their settings, characters and genres that are different.
I would have given Angel these Emmys :

May 26, 2020 at 7:10 pm #1203502697Practically the whole CW/WB lineup, and Joss Whedon. But Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars’ snubs will be forever a taint on the TV Academy.
ReplyCopy URLMay 27, 2020 at 6:21 am #1203503213In the unfortunate event that Michael Zegen gets snubbed this year (I’m currently thinking he’ll make the cut), I’d like to throw his name in here early. Cause if he can’t pull off a nomination in this empty year, I don’t think he ever will.
Really hope he pulls it off. He took a role that starts out as so unlikable, and managed to bring out the lovability in it.

I also think Jodie Whittaker (who was snubbed even at BAFTA of all places) deserved a nomination for season 1.

May 28, 2020 at 10:42 am #1203505359Agreed 100% However, I would nominate Carpenter a couple more times, and would have nominated Denisof for supporting actor for seasons 4 and 5, and Acker should have won supporting actress for season 5.
