Since “The Handmaid’s Tale” started production on its fifth season around two weeks ago, I thought I would open this thread.
Elisabeth Moss seems to be directing the first two episodes of the season, and Bradley Whitford is also set to direct an episode.

ReplyCopy URLMarch 10, 2022 at 11:37 pm #1204840714I’m curious to see when Hulu decides to release this season considering they seem to be at quite an advanced stage of shooting already. Especially if Moss becomes an award contender for Shining Girls will they want her to compete with herself at the winter awards (I know awards might not be the biggest thing on their mind when scheduling but I’m still curious haha)?
They’ve only been filming for a month, so they’re not that far into shooting. Supposedly, production doesn’t wrap until June. But I have no idea what this means for a premiere date.

This definitely looks like her season! Whew.

ReplyCopy URLJuly 14, 2022 at 10:34 am #1205015265Excited for the new season and I am sure it can be great like season 4 but this teaser just confirm what I think since season 3: Handmaid’s Tale don’t deserve the political position some pieces of media insist the show still have…

They empty all the relevance season 1 build to make a dystopian blockbuster with white women suffering. I will never not complain about the way they development Samira Wiley’s Moira after the first season, still insist she should have a co-lead arc in season 3 and 4. But even the book always received this type of criticism so ok i guess.July 14, 2022 at 11:26 am #1205015342Has anyone heard any plans for wrapping up the series (season 5 or 6) or stretching it out until there is no hope left for our Dear June? I remember reading this in 2018 and thinking NO NO NO!
“‘The Handmaid’s Tale‘ showrunner Bruce Miller has revealed that there may be 10 seasons of the hit show.”
