Better, if disjointed still. A wonderful episode for Billy Crudup, should be his submission episode. Great scene at the bar with Hannah’s dad.October 15, 2021 at 7:05 am #1204520084
Watching episode 4 and I was just about to warm up to Reese’s performance but then Bradley had to randomly throw the vase in some stupidly executed melodramatic moment. They should hire better writers. It’s crazy the amount of talented actors working on this show yet they are dragging them down with the poor writing.October 15, 2021 at 11:17 am #1204520398
Whew Jen delivered in that final scene but her character’s motivations this season are just about knowing what’s in a book, like…October 15, 2021 at 12:19 pm #1204520587
No wonder Alex has back problems when Aniston is carrying this entire showOctober 15, 2021 at 12:36 pm #1204520634
It’s been on my mind for quite a while but now i can say it without guilt
Billy Crudup is eating this season up and he’s the MVP so far, there’s something so fucking good about him, urgh.October 15, 2021 at 2:10 pm #1204520810
As a half-Italian, I am offended by the pasta scene in episode 4.October 15, 2021 at 2:59 pm #1204520912
Alex: Can some explain to me why she is so worried about people finding out that she slept with Mitch? She is a feminist hero for her outing of the toxic environment that she admitted to enabling. Her and Mitch clearly flirted on air which was a part of their popularity ( like Matt Lauer/Katie Couric ). No one is going to care if they hooked up, both are now divorced.
Yanko: attaboy. I cheered when he punched the racist and pushed back on Mia. He was right, performative wokeness doesn’t achieve anything. A fist to the face does!
Cory: Please don’t out Bradley! It will kill your friendship and make her life hell. Go punch Fred in the face instead.October 15, 2021 at 3:27 pm #1204520968
Finally caught up, and my biggest question is why the hell did they keep Steve Carrel’s character on the show in such a big capacity? I literally could not care less about what he’s doing in Italy and I don’t know why they want to give him a “redemption arc” so badly. Besides that I’m enjoying everything else for the most part. Jennifer Aniston, Billy Crudup, Greta Lee, and (especially in this last episode!) Marcia Gay Harden are all phenomenal and I hope they all get some recognition.October 15, 2021 at 3:47 pm #1204521001
I kinda appreciate the Steve Carrel scenes so i have a break to go on my phoneOctober 15, 2021 at 3:53 pm #1204521012
I never thought I would say this but Reese Witherspoon is the highlight for me this time around (so far). If I ignore the vase smashing, the way she is portraying Bradley’s internalised homophobia and repression is perfect. It feels real, relatable and is extremely emotive. I just wish the writing was better with depth because it feels like there are key scenes either being deleted or not written in the first place, which dampens the storyline for me.October 15, 2021 at 5:05 pm #1204521084
Ted Lasso is a commercial hit too so there really is no lack of visibility here.
Personally, I only two people who watch Ted Lasso. Granted I can’t speak for other people, but it’s critical reception aside, I wonder if it’s a widely seen show? I wouldn’t say Apple has had any of its series have become full on “hit” shows in the way they have for Netflix and Hulu- even Disney+ etc.
It’s still a very young streamer though, so time is definitely on its side. I’m just surprised a series like The Morning Show didn’t break viewing records due to the cast involved.October 16, 2021 at 6:22 am #1204521649
Good episode this week!
Aniston was MVP followed closely by Crudup.
And love every time Marcia Gay Harden is on the show.
I hope second half is a bit stronger.
It’s not quality drama but I love to see these actors every week. Not now
