I would imagine if the series is not renewed (and I think it’s quite possible, with no announcement at the end of the season compared to various other dramas) voters will pare back significantly. Lovecraft is an exception (in terms of voters going for cancelled series) and I’d think voters are unlikely to give Apple the affordances it gave HBO.

Finally saw the finale and even if it wasn’t memorable I’m happy they didn’t put a big cliffhanger…of course people alway has to criticize this show, so now they needed somthing big to happen or it’s not a season finale, but I think they wrapped things in a proper way.

This was a difficult season, whith a slow and uncertain start, but now with the season over I can see the whole picture.
At the beginning I was wondering why Alex only storyline this season was being worried about Maggie’s book, and surely they didn’t serve Alex with the best writing, but in the end the journey was fascinating.
Jennifer Aniston commitment to this role is impressive, and I hope she rides another awards season. Ghots, La Amara Vita and Fever all could be submissions for her, but I still think Testimony was her best performance this season…flawless in every scene.
Reese Witherspoon was able in the second half of the season to completly change my opinion about Bradley, making her character way more human, beliavable and interesting. Still she’s not Aniston for me, but I’m totally in for some awards attention.
Crudup, still a supporting player, was probably even better than last season, showing many new sides of Cory.
Duplass was also good even if his feeling for Alex are always more questionable, and it’s not alway easy to stand the charachter.
Carell still didn’t convince me this season, but bringing Mitch back was not a bad idea, allowing to close both his and Alex’s arc.
About supporting players Julianna Margulies gave a rock solid performance, but I wished there was a bit more development about Laura..this is not a performance I would nominate in general but I appreciated a lot.
Greta Lee was a great addiction and she played wonderful opposite these extraordinary cast.
Karen Pittman is the supporting player I would nominate: amazing every time she appeared, especially in Confirmations.
Valeria Golino is one of ours best actresses in Italy and I’m so glad she did this show, she played wiht htese actor and they didn’t waste her character, using her in every episode, even after Mitch passing.
In their small parts Marcia Gay Harden and Holland Taylor were (no surprise) great.

I don’t know if they will get a third season…in terms of storylines there are plenty of possibilities but they shoulg go back to the origins..to The Morning Show…the the news..Confirmations was so great beacuse they showed how to report news.

Apple would be so dumb not to renew it, if only just to save face. Better to give it a short final season if they’re even considering cancelling it. Would be an awful look for them to cancel their big launch drama rather than having it end.

Think we’re all getting carried away anyway. Feel pretty confident this will be renewed as it’s the only show other than Ted Lasso that I know anyone watches on the streamer.

I think between See and Foundation they have a reasonable amount of viewership, although it’s a very sci fi rather than broad audience (probably not as much as Ted Lasso. Mythic Quest is their only show renewed to S4 so imagine that’s at least decently watched.

I 100 percent agree I don’t think Apple would voluntarily cancel the show even if viewership were low, I more wonder about Aniston and Witherspoon. I do think that ending is certainly written in a way that could allow Aniston to exit if necessary.

I agree, but structurally I think they could do it.

My best guess would be that they probably get one more shortened season. I feel like this isn’t going to be a five or six season thing.

I don’t see why Aniston should be the one to exit..
Apart from the Murder Mistery sequel I don’t think she has any upcoming projects…Reese with all the producing is way more busy.

Oh I don’t want either of them to, I was more saying that the way it ended did kind of give the option of her dying offscreen or something.

The Morning Show would obviously not continue without Aniston when she’s the main draw for the show lol.

FYC: Better Call Saul, The English and The Good Fight in all categories including Emily Blunt, Bob Odenkirk, Christine Baranski and Rhea Seehorn.

Totally random but I had such a spontaneous chat with a fellow actor today about how stunning Aniston is in this. He’d only seen most of season 1 though so it was tough knowing that he’s got the best and worst of the show ahead of him haha

A few pages ago, I wrote about how episode 8 was a bright spot in a pretty bad season and hopefully a sign that the show would stick the landing.

I was wrong, and the stink from the season finale even ruins any good feeling I had toward episode 8.

This was abysmal and I honestly cannot believe that all of the talented forces behind this show thought this was the best effort they could put forth. I don’t know what was more offensive: Alex equating getting COVID to getting “canceled,” the overwrought and yet offensively inaccurate portrayal of the state of the world (or at the very least, America) in early-to-mid March 2020 as COVID hit, Maggie’s book (which apparently contained multiple bombshells about the titular morning show) not getting mentioned despite (assuming my) still being released, Chip faking COVID and leaving his fiancé so he could help a drugged-up Alex put together an unstructured live streaming news program on a streaming service that served no purpose to the plot of the show, or the fact that multiple storylines that were set up throughout the season were left unresolved so that this show — which is about the news — could show barely any news footage of the characters covering the story of COVID.

There are multiple actors and most of the writing staff that should be truly ashamed by this end product. Apple hasn’t renewed the show for a third season, despite being their original tentpole, and by God, they should cut their losses and try to bury this show in the graveyard of their expanding library of content. This was offensively bad.

Very disappointing season 2. Still watched the whole thing. The episode in Italy was obviously the highlight.

    Here for the comedies

I was going to say no it wasn’t and that it was one of the worst episodes of the season but they did kill of Carell’s character so maybe it wasn’t the bad lol.
