Haven’t finished the episode yet, but just to confirm, we’re supposed to take the scene at the gelato shop with Mitch seriously, right? It wasn’t played for laughs?

Is the show trying to set up some sort of redemption arc for Mitch? I really hope not. I still don’t even understand why he’s in this season at all.

The show thinks it’s clever, thinks it’s giving a “new” perspective on predators who have been kicked out of power and deplatformed. You can tell that the creators think they’re doing something with this whole “cancel culture gone too far” thing. Except I’m 100% sure they don’t actually know how to properly have this conversation, and wherever they do end up going with it is not going to be it.

I thought it was definitely played for laughs, with him sat there awkwardly and then doing his whole classic Carrell thing as he walked away with them still arguing

Decent episode but now that Alex is back new storylines really need to start…
Aniston and Crudup as always are the main reason to watch, and in their small parts I also loved Desean Terry, Greta Lee, Will Arnett and Holland Taylor.
The gelato scene in Como was pretty terrible, but I’m interested in more dinamics between Carell and Valeria Golino’s character (she’s one of italian finest actresses).
This episode really showed the two weak links:
    – writing (sorry Kerry Ehrin and your team but these actors deserve better)
    – Reese Witherspoon: Bradley at The dinner really looked like a bad soap opera. Hard to believe but I almost miss season 1 Brdadley…
Hope next episode delivers with Queen Julianna entering the scene…I’m waiting the Aniston/Margulies interview since the first teaser, let’s hope it doesn’t disappoint!

My feeling would be for this show to only get in for acting next year based on what I’ve seen.

This is why I enjoy show. Haha so soapy. Aniston was great here.

I am all here for Queen Margulies character.

am I the only one that finds the actor playing Daniel to be horrendous?

don’t really think that we needed Carnell back but we will see where that goes.

I was beginning to think I was kind of hate watching this but I really, really enjoyed this episode.

Reese and Julianna have good chemistry and I rather enjoyed the direction.

Not sure what the Mitch stuff is leading to though.

Lesli Linka Glatter should have won in 2010 for directing the Mad Men episode “Guy Walks Into an Advertising Agency”. If you’ve seen the episode you’ll know why.

I thought this week’s episode (of The Morning Show of course haha) was again sort of ok? Carell’s storyline was again painful to watch and feels like it’s going in a predictable direction. It’s sometimes hard to tell with the show whether Aniston and Crudup’s snarky lines are written better or if they’re line readings are simply superior to everyone else on their show. I let out a nice chuckle when one of the reporters harassing Alex asked if she thinks Trump will be impeached and she retorted with “he’s been impeached” but that scene where Witherspoon and Minhaj’s characters were poking fun at the term social distancing was so cringey. I guess that may have been part of the point but it just felt a bit unnecessarily on the nose?

Julianna Margulies’ entrance was a spectacular one and I’m quite interested to see where her storyline goes. Margulies herself is pitch perfect in this role playing the duality of her character quite well.
